Shown here is the Bedford fire surround finished in Farrow & Ball Pointing made to measure to custom sizes for wood burning stove. Measure the overhang of your mantel, and look for crown moulding or trim with a projection that's smaller than the overhang. Crown moulding is installed at an angle against the inside corner, so it needs to fit properly!
Have any fire surround made to measure in Solid Oak, Mahogany, Maple, Pine, Beech, Walnut and White or finished in a choice of colours. If you want this for a Gas fire it is really only suitable for the tray inset type and finishes off the fire opening. With a fully equipped woodworking machine shop and skilled craftsmen, fireplaces are available made to your requirements. If you decide to use fluted trim for the sides of the fireplace, choose a similar style like dentil moulding for a decorative accent under the mantel. If your style is more modern, choose a solid mantel without a lot of fussy details and straight trim for the sides. If you want an inside return and an outside return on your trim- adding an outside return will reduce how far the inside return goes into the wall cavity. As an example, if the outside return is 20mm and you want 50mm of the inside return to go into the wall cavity you will require an inside return of (50mm + 20mm) = 70mm.The minimum inside return size is 10mm
