About this deal

It’s a stunning video presentation which, for the majority of the runtime, will make your jaw drop. Shooting in Iceland: Miller’s Planet/Mann’s Planet– The two planets in the film share a common Earth-Bound country in Iceland. The shallow lake that was used as well as the barren glacier that was perfect for both locales. Life on Cooper's Farm—Bringing Americana and the grounded nature of a farm to a sci-fi space movie.

Interstellar Ultra HD Blu-ray Review | AVForums

TARS and CASE (09:27) - A detailed look at the two intelligent mobile machines in the film, how they were designed and brought to life for the film.Across all Dimensions and Time (09:02) - The design and realisation of the tesseract seen in the film's final act. The conclusions that are reached can appear hokey on the surface. There's an "I've seen this somewhere else," vibe near the end. But, with Nolan's keen directorial eye, focused on the wonder of practical special effects, and a dominating performance from McConaughey, 'Interstellar' overcomes most of its faults and satisfies in the end. Across All Dimensions and Time—A look at the concept and design of the Tesseract, which incorporated a practical set rather than a green screen. As with past filmed-on-IMAX Nolan pictures, 'Interstellar' features alternating aspect ratios. The standard 2.39:1 is employed for dialogue-centric scenes, whereas the 1.78:1 ratio is doled out for all the exciting visual stuff. Aspect ratio changes can be jarring, but they aren't here. They flow quite well with the overall pacing of the story, so they're not overtly distracting. Life on Cooper's Farm (09:43) - The story of the lengths the filmmakers went to to create a corn working outside Calgary in Canada, including building a farm house for exterior and interior photography and growing 500 acres of corn.

Interstellar (2014) - Blu-ray Interstellar (2014) - Blu-ray

This three disc set contains two of the discs, each containing a movie (the Ultra HD on one and the Blu-ray on the other). The special features are all found on the third disc. Final Thoughts– Just that. The cast and crew give us their impressions on the film as a whole and its possible repercussions on the real-world.In the near future the Earth is suffering from a drought. The “Dust Bowl” that happened in the mid west in the 1930’s has become a worldwide problem. Crops are drying up and huge dust storms are commonplace. Farmer/Engineer Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) and his family aren’t immune to the climate changes, either. However, it so happens that they discover some sort of code that leads Cooper to the headquarters of NASA. He’s informed that they’re sending a shuttle into space to try and solve the drought on Earth. Cooper, along with a skeleton crew, head off into the bowels of space and head for a wormhole that will allow them to travel beyond our solar system. The odds of survival are slim. Will Cooper and his crew be able to navigate the dangers of space and save the Earth or are they doomed? Inside Interstellar– The rest of the segments are all found housed under this umbrella. Totaling just over two hours, these 14 featureless explain pretty much all you’d need to know about the film. Here’s what to expect from each: The disc includes a great set of extras that reveal all that went into making such an ambitious film. The Endurance (09:24) - The design and construction of the film's main spaceship including a walk-through of the set by production designer Nathan Crowley. The Ranger and the Lander (12:20) - The design and construction of the Ranger spacecraft and the Lander spacecraft with another walk-through from production designer Nathan Crowley.

Interstellar [2014] (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray) – Warner Bros

The Endurance– A look at the spaceship in the film, its resemblance to the International Space Station and a tour of the inside (which looks conspicuously like another we’ve seen before…) Plotting an Interstellar Journey (07:49) - The filmmakers discuss the genesis of the project and their ambitions.

Across All Dimensions and Time– A pretty comprehensive look at the design and thought that went into the Tesseract that played a major part in the third act of the film. TARS and CASE—Designing and building these unique characters and how they were brought to life on set and in the film. The Cosmic Sounds of Interstellar (13:40) - Hans Zimmer discusses how he wrote and recorded the score for the film.
