Marmalade turns on Snake and the Bad Guys risk their lives to save him, bargaining with Marmalade for his safety. A holiday special inspired by the characters from the film is being produced by DreamWorks Animation Television.

All ages are welcome in this movie as TheBad Guys satisfies everyone's funny bone along with some great messages about friendship, loyalty, and of course, change. The film was awarded the title of Truly Moving Picture Award at the 2022 Heartland Film Festival and was nominated for Best Animated Film at the Hollywood Critics Association and Satellite Awards. The film's animation style was inspired by that of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) while also having a similar style to anime like Lupin III. Blabey brings an enjoyable sense of humor to his work, and now DreamWorks Animation tries their luck transferring good-natured silliness to the big screen.

The film was described as having "a similar twist on the heist genre that Shrek did on fairy tales, and what Kung Fu Panda did for the kung fu genre". Champagne and martini glasses are seen at parties; one character accepts what appears to be a martini. Characters drink from glasses that look like they might have cocktails in them, and friends exchange insults and use potty words ("butt," "fart," etc.

Notorious rival criminal Crimson Paw rescues them, revealing herself to be Foxington, a reformed criminal herself. Professor Marmalade is being felicitated for leading the city out of distress when a meteor hit them over a year back.

Wolf brokers a deal to keep them out of prison, and the Bad Guys set out to fool the world into believing they've gone good.
