About this deal

Although the expense of private therapy and the intensity of demand for NHS services does colour the backdrop of the book, Konemann could afford to push further here; the passages about therapy feel faint in contrast to his descriptions of live gigs. However, I think your level of engagement with the story will depend on it’s level of relatability for you. A poor condition book can still make a good reading copy but is generally not collectible unless the item is very scarce. It's funny and well written but in the latter half devolves into a series of things that just seem to happen because something has to happen.

I could empathise with Noah the protagonist’s mentality and mental health to an extent, and thought the way the author interspersed chapters with excerpts relating to his favourite band, ‘Smiling Politely’ (whose fates and fortunes join and juxtapose with his own), achieved a poignant pay-off. Claire reaches up to touch the damage, testing, then scoops her fringe out of her face with the same bloodied hand.

Listened to this album driving home the night lockdown was announced so I wouldn't be alone at uni and it really uplifted me on the journey. It's interesting how (though ostensibly successful) this band member equally can't pull himself out of a downward spiral. By sharing the technology that has grown World of Books Group into the business it is today, we're helping charities increase revenue and reduce waste through re-commerce. I don’t see what it is, but I hear the impact, the clack of teeth knocking together, and Claire choking around the end of a lyric.

For fifty years, she has trained to slay wyrms - but none have appeared since the Nameless One, and the younger generation. While music is an undeniable component in Noah’s narrative, Smiling Politely serve a rather underwhelming function in the story. Absolutely, but the mistakes they made along the way were human, and it felt completely raw and I absolutely loved that.It distracts me too much – not just from the words themselves, but also from the physical act of sitting down and actually doing something.
