About this deal

Don’t worry if your baby doesn’t seem to love bath time at first. It might help to try different ways of bathing them at different times of day. It's just a case of finding out what works for you both. Overall I have been pleased with this thermometer; it seems accurate, sturdy, and the batteries are lasting well. My only criticism is that is is a bit on the expensive side – there are cheaper options out there that do the same thing, although perhaps not as well. 4 stars. The design ensures that the built-in battery stays put, as it's made from a single piece of sealed silicone. You need your baby’s bath temperature to be just right, and understandably want reassurance that your little one is safe and comfortable. Bathing your baby is a lovely way to bond with them, but the first few baths can be daunting for new parents!

Always test the water with your wrist or elbow too though, just to be on the safe side. What temperature should my baby's bath water be? Speed of results - The easiest baby thermometers to use are those that require your baby to keep still for the shortest time possible - so you should look for thermometers that can provide an accurate reading in seconds. The good news is, the majority can these days, although some require more interpreting than others. While your baby is in the bath, it's important that they stay warm because a wet baby can get cold fast. Ad disclosure: This product was sent to me free of charge by Tommee Tippee to be reviewed. However, as per my PR info disclaimer, this review is my unbiased honest opinion of the product.

Fast temperature reading: Gently tap the unit to activate the display and temperature will be displayed in a few seconds. The temperature can be displayed in Fahrenheit or Celsius. While you're washing them, talking to them and explaining what you’re doing will help to keep them calm and relaxed.

Remember that babies can drown in a very small amount of water – as little as 3cm! Never leave your baby alone in a bath, not even for a second! Make sure you have everything you need within easy reach before you start. If the phone or the door goes mid-bath, scoop your baby up in a towel and take them with you. Gently tap the unit to activate the display and temperature will be displayed in a few seconds. The temperature can be displayed in fahrenheit or celsius.

A baby's skin is around 20-30% thinner than an adults’, so it’s super sensitive to their environment. Therefore, it’s essential that the temperature for your baby’s bath isn’t too hot or cold. It needs to be just right. The LED warning light on the display panel will illuminate red when the water temperature is above 39°C and too hot for baby. The much-loved Gro-Egg has had a makeover, and it’s bigger, brighter and better. Not that we didn’t like it before, but we love it even more now there’s more of it. Tommee Tippee bosses bought the Grobag company and, a short while later, the GroEgg2 was born… and it’s very cool. Once you’ve activated it, it only takes a couple of seconds for the thermometer to display the temperature in its surrounding area, whether that’s the room it’s in, or the water you’ve placed it in. In the bathtub, the thermometer will show you whether you need to add more hot or cold water to get just the right spa environment temperature for your little one which should be in the range of 36.5°C and 38°C. If the water gets to 39°C or above, a red warning light comes on letting you know it’s too hot. Review: We have been testing out this thermometer in both the girls room and their baths. It is really easy to use – you just pop it into the bath or stand it up on it’s plastic stand, and it displays the temperature of the water/room. The display is activated by tapping it, or dropping it into water.

The battery compartment can be opened with a coin, or similar, and it takes 1 cell battery to operate (CR2032). Because of the auto-off feature, I don’t expect to be needing to change the battery any time soon. It comes with the battery included to begin with.
