About this deal

Ongoing Covid restrictions, reduced air and freight capacity, high volumes and winter weather conditions are all impacting transportation and local delivery across the globe. This already classic pop-up book title by Sabuda contains all kinds of innovative techniques to make paper pop-out. One of the highlights in this book is the scene where the Wizard of Oz floats in a balloon above Dorothy and her friends. It’s an impressive mix of design and paper engineering. This book takes you into a world full of depth, surprises and green adventure. Visit the palace of the Wizard of Oz, build a hot air balloon, make flowers grow and watch out for the flying monkeys. It’s all in this book that will blow your mind. A must have for everyone who loves advanced pop-up books!

Robert's pop-up art is incredible, especially Oz's hot-air balloon and the tornado at the beginning. This is not a perfect adaptation, but I enjoyed it so much. Many of the pop-ups in the book are intricate and might not be the best for younger children. You have to be careful when you close the book. We are experiencing delays with deliveries to many countries, but in most cases local services have now resumed. Over the course of his life, Baum raised fancy poultry, sold fireworks, managed an opera house, opened a department store, and an edited a newspaper before finally turning to writing. In 1900, he published his best known book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Eventually he wrote fifty-five novels, including thirteen Oz books, plus four "lost" novels, eighty-three short stories, more than two hundred poems, an unknown number of scripts, and many miscellaneous writings. Baum died on May 6, 1919. He is buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, in Glendale, California. This glorious edition is told in a shorter version of L. Frank Baum's original text, with artwork in the style of W. W. Denslow. With sparkling touches of colored foil and Emerald City eyeglasses, this classic tale is certain to find an honored place on the family bookshelf.
