About this deal

In the early 20th Century Monument manufactured holesaws for plywood, specifically for holes for struts on wings of biplanes such as the Sopwith Camel. Later Monument manufactured M42 bi-metal holesaws in the UK. These included onepiece holesaws such as product codes 1848E 1849H 1850L. With increased competition and dollar price pressure, Monument ceased manufacturing its onepiece holesaws in the late 1990s. The 10mm HSS Centre drill works in conjunction with the 33mm 45mm & 58mm TCT holesaws. A Transition hex / hole enlarging arbor is also included. Additionally included in the kits are three spade or flat bits of premium quality 8mm 10mm and 12mm. The Real Chippy’s Kit Good morning, everybody and welcome to another Tool Talk review. My name's James. I'm your friendly neighbourhood electrician and today I'm going to be reviewing some wonderful Pro-Fit hole saws that have been kindly sent to me by Tool Talk. Cheers guys. And right, to start off these things are ace. I use the standard muti teeth, multi purpose hole saws. I'll be switching to these. It's like a hot knife through butter. The pipe and waste kit is designed specifically for plumbers, heating and gas engineers. The six TCT holesaws sizes are 19, 27, 33, perfect for 15mm, 22mm and 28mm copper pipe. The 38, 45, 58mm TCT holesaws are perfect for 1.1/4in, 1.1/2in and 2in. waste pipe when cutting through kitchen cabinets.

Would I recommend it? Yes, but only for certain jobs. If you're like me and you're an electrician that goes around not really sure what you're going into, unfortunately, it is going to be the Starrett cutter all day long. But if you are a carpenter or a pipe fitter and you know that you are going in and you are making all the holes for your pipes to access and you know that you doing 100 holes or 50 holes, then this system's going to be good because it's going to save time, effort, and energy making those holes. Because sparkies is generally only use these for a couple of holes here and there, the odd one or two, but other trades will use these a lot more. And if you are using them constantly, it's better to be faster. I'm just going to put this mask on, and we're just going to do a test hole to see how this little cutter takes to cut through. And the only other one would be to make these possibly removable. I don't know if they are, I'll try and get one off in a minute. Just so you can interchange the hole saws, it would be handy. Of course our trade partners and importers are a very important link to our market, so without a doubt they’re an integral part of ProFit’s success. Our business is organized in such a way to best help support such teamwork in the form of marketing support, training and the ever so important transfer of knowledge. There are different types of hole saws and they generally range in size between 14mm and 210mm in diameter. Holes below this size can usually be achieved using a standard drill bit, while larger holes will generally require alternative cutting methods. If I have to give you a negative point and it is only a small one, it's that this piece doesn't have an interchangeable drill bit. So if it gets blunt, you are into sharpening it. If you haven't got that piece, then you are going to be looking at buying a new arbour shall we say. But as long as you're careful, you know what you're drilling through, I don't see that as a problem really. Great piece of kit. Love it. I shall be putting this into my toolbox and using it as much as possible. It comes in a nice little box. There's two there for a starter kit. Pro-Fit® tungsten carbide tipped TCT holesaws are perfect for plumbers, chippies and electricians. These TCT holesaws are the correct product for the job. Bi-metal holesaws are really designed for cutting through metal.

I've got a scaffold board and an old bit of kitchen. Cuts through it like a hot knife through butter. Easy. Easy to clean out. Straight out. Give it a little clean. Easy as that. It cuts though stuff really easily. Kitchen cupboard flew through it. Pro-Fit. Great bit of kit. Brilliant.Because the hole saw only cuts the perimeter of the material and not the core material itself, they are often a preferred choice for making larger holes. The same hole can be made much faster and using less power than with a standard or flat drill bit.
