About this deal

Oral-B have implemented a simple, yet effective method to ensure you know you are using the correct brush head. It catches the eye and looks impressive. It is far from necessary and is really less useful than you might think. It appears to negatively impact battery life. I would say they are about 10 percent larger than non-iO heads. What you get in the box with the standard iO3 (for illustration purposes) It’s not as quiet as many other brushes, but far less noisy than non-iO models The bristles are angled so that the white and lilac appear longer than the dark blue ones. This angling helps to make the overall cleaning of this brush head that bit better.

The ‘Oral-B Teen’ is really just a rebadged adult electric toothbrush and includes a brush head designed for braces. Depending on which Oral-B electric toothbrush you have or are looking to opt for will depend on the cleaning modes available.Over the many months I have used this style of head, I have not found the bristles to fray or split and have been very pleased with the performance with no desire to change to another brush head, other than perhaps the sensitive brush head. The colour of the bristles start off fuller and darker, but as time passes they become lighter and appear more worn. Sensitive Clean is the new and improved brush head that is designed to replace the Sensitive brush head that has been available for many years. The average brush head price has doubled with the iO bristles. I see no logical justification for this, other than, they can.

tufts of cushioning bristles on the outer edge of the head have the smallest diameter bristle filaments (4.5mil) of any Oral-B brush head. Each of these have potential advantages based on your specific needs. CrossAction is a good general clean option whilst the FlossAction is advantageous if you particularly suffer with plaque build up in between teeth. Looking quite different to most other brush heads, 3 outer bristle tufts sit around a single inner tuft. The 3 outer tufts are blue in colour, longer in length and angled to create a kind of tip as they lean into the centre of the round brush head where you find the cluster of white bristles. That central cluster of bristles is slightly longer than the outer blue ones. The oscillating, rotating and mico vibrating brush head is clinically proven and my at home plaque tests have confirmed it manages to lift the bacteria and debris really well. CrossAction vs Precision Clean vs FlossAction vs Sensitive Clean vs…the other 5 Oral-B brush heads available to buy.

These ‘Tuft-in-Tuft’ structures are found on the outer edge of the brush head, there are 6 in total. Unless you travel frequently the shorter battery life probably isn’t a big issue. Particularly when you consider it takes just 3 hours to charge the Series 8. That’s a quarter of the time most other brushes need. Striking the balance isn’t necessarily that easy, but here you get timely and helpful notifications so that you can take corrective action and ultimately improve your oral care. You will find that the brush heads will normally last 3 months and whilst the intensity of the bristle colour may have changed the bristle formation should still be virtually the same as it was when new at the end of the 3 month period. If the iO3 is potentially your first electric toothbrush you will notice the deeper and more effective clean it offers compared to a manual toothbrush. Do learn about the correct technique though, as it is different from a manual brush. It’s not as harsh on the teeth and gums as other Oral-B models Yet the app or brush doesn’t do this. It relies on you to move the brush from zone to zone as and when you like. The best pressure sensor on a toothbrush today
