About this deal

She expressed that “as a fellow reader with my fair share of past experiences, I understand that there are issues some people do not want to read about.

Students who wouldn't have ever headed to their local libraries before are now reading for fun, thanks to the BookTok community. Her books, including Hopeless, Confess, and Verity, have garnered critical acclaim and have been translated into numerous languages, captivating readers from all corners of the globe.Etsy’s 100% renewable electricity commitment includes the electricity used by the data centres that host Etsy. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his no dating rule, she can't help but wonder what made him that way in the first place. I understand the meaning behind this sentence, suggesting that parents should put thought into their children's names, and that it should suit an adult as much as a child.

This book is marketed as romance, and the synopsis makes it seem like a lighthearted love triangle instead of a woman’s experience with spousal abuse. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year.I felt that Ryle cared more about the baby than Lily, and it continues to portray women as baby machines who are made to serve a purpose. Colleen Hoover, a name that resonates with readers around the world, is a literary powerhouse who has taken the contemporary romance genre by storm. Beyond her captivating storytelling, Hoover's success can be attributed to her genuine connection with her readers. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lilys life seems too good to be true. I believe Lily was a strong character to a degree and I agreed with the way she responded to certain things (or I would have done the same), but there are times where I would have been gone, and Lily stayed (like when Ryle begged her for sex).

EDIT: I read this book when it first came out (as an ARC) and did love it, however, with the continuation of the story I feel like it has tainted (or just changed) my view on this one.

These cookies help provide information on metrics the number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc. I empathize with the main character Lily and I appreciate the effort that was made to highlight how trauma distorts and lingers, but I don’t believe this captured the severity or nuance that a topic this heavy deserves in fictionalized work. I also think it is unacceptable for people to be recommending this book as just a “sad book” or a “book to make you cry”, because diminishing a book that explores such a difficult and serious topic like domestic abuse, to an object that simply serves the purpose of evoking emotions from you, is extremely disrespectful and shallow.
