Nyktos shows up and tries to apologize and talk to Seraphena about Veses, but they get into an argument over Veses mostly because Nyktos doesn’t want to tell Sera the truth about what is going on between them.

Suddenly things go black as the Cimmerians create the black cloud, and Sera quickly finds out that they can use this cloud to quickly scale the Rise. Ash doesn’t like this, even though Delfai tells him that there are no other options but three that he lists, Ash starts strangling him, but Seraphena intervenes, and when Ash lets go of Delfai, he believes that there’s hope as he had seen his own death at the hands of Ash. She then realizes that while Delfai may be able to tell them how to remove the embers, that would mean that the deaths of Gods and Primals would happen the same way as it happened with Kolis, and she cannot have her life exchanged for others.

Still Sera wants to do something to ease the situation in Lasania, but Nyktos tells her that anything from Ilisseum would quickly degrade as it moved between the Primal and Mortal realms.
