About this deal

Paul speaks here about people who, through yielding to the influence of demons, “depart from their faith”. Obviously they could not depart from their faith unless they had been in the faith. As Christians they had apparently opened themselves up to deceiving demons and consequently turned away from their faith in Christ.

Jesus gave a legion of demons permission… Demons knew who Jesus was, they knew His power and knew that they didn’t have a fighting chance against Him no matter how many there were. They knew He had authority over them and that they had to ask Him for permission to come and go. As I continued reading this book, I pondered on some things. Jesus said that He must go to be with the Father and that He would give us the Holy Spirit who would never leave us. (John 14:16) The Holy Spirit, our Helper, is to guide us into all truth (John 16:13) and with Him, we will do even greater things than Jesus did when He was on this earth (John 14:12.) Jesus gave the disciples the authority to cast out demons. When He sent them out two by two, (Mark 3:15) He gave them the power to tread on serpents and over all power of the enemy. (Luke 10:19) What did this mean? Did this actually pertain to me? If Jesus has authority over the demons and all the power of the enemy, and He says that He has given me that same authority, then wouldn’t that mean that I have the power to cast out demons, to have power over the enemy, to do the things He did? At the same time I thought, “When would I ever even have to do something like that anyway?” Little did I know what lay ahead… An easy read, very practical and down to earth look at spiritual/demonic oppression from a christian perspective. The book is written by a couple who has been up to their elbows in REAL spiritual warfare. They share what they've learned, good and bad. It will likely challenge, instruct, inform, uplift, empower, and motivate the reader. The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. The deliverance of a 3 month old baby who suffered from 'tormenting spirits' which found a doorway when his parents were arguing over how to discipline him...I mean, I don't have kids myself but do you discipline 3 month old babies? are they not still nothing more than yodeling potatoes at that point? what can a 3 month old do that requires disciplining? I will say this cover is absolutely gorgeous and should be something akin to animal farm but alas it’s not.

The question is, with all the advances in medical and psychological sciences, should the Christian church still be teaching Jesus followers to do the same thing? Do demons exist? Is what we read in the New Testament simply an ancient uneducated way of seeing the world, which we have overcome by medical and other advances that have been made since Biblical times?

So it’s about commanding Spirits to come out of people or yourself using Jesus authority. If sin has been involved then the person concerned also needs to repent of sins first and renounce any behaviour linked – before the deliverance is tried. (And of course committment to Jesus needs to be if necessary reiterated.) This month brings my most unsettling book to write about so far. I feel quite hesitant about it, but as the authors claim it is Biblically trustworthy stuff that teaches how to bring healing – through deliverance in Jesus name – to people in bondage to various kinds of problems, I guess it’s worth a post. And finally let me post a comment made to someone who dared call this book 'unbiblical', and which leaves me hope that maybe I too will receive some learnin' I learned so much about demons and deliverance and not to fear them. I learned about how to minister to different kinds of people, groupings of demons, ample scripture support, and deliverance tips, etc. Great read for anyone desiring to learn about demons and how to be delivered from them who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, the Son of God. Oh don’t worry the book weaves in about how lust, masturbation, homosexuality, etc. are all terrible. They talks about how other cults are bad like Jehovah witnesses and Christian science and “others.” It also brings up the occult like Ouija boards, handwriting analysis, astrology, witchcraft, it really just is a stereotype filled book. Literally has a section about false religions and then naming every religion that isn’t their own. A book written by bigots for bigots.
