About this deal

As it wasn’t reprinted to coincide with Doom’s major role in Secret Wars, it seems the digital package is your best bet. I also like how we learn that Doom's well-known cloak belonged to the the dead King Vladimir, a symbol of his final victory that he replaces his more humble version with that of the King. One night, she was manipulated by a demon and filled with a thirst for vengeance on the Baron's men, who constantly tormented their band of gypsies.

The many people that Doom encountered in his life are perfectly-suited to give their brief but telling perspectives on the man behind that mask. His goals and ambitions, as portrayed in this book, set him truly in a league of his own among other Marvel super-villains. Victor was rescued by the gypsies, and after his father's death, he found his mother's strongbox, full of spell books and magical supplies. From the black steppes of Eastern Europe, to the college campuses of New York City, and finally to the throne of Latveria - this is the life of Von Doom! And for long-time fans of the Fantastic Four, we get to see how their greatest nemesis gets into the Darth Vader-type suit and finally goes from Victor von Doom to Dr Doom. This same extra of this book gives it an odd, sort of quality, feel to it as though it's story is told by Doom himself through an investigative media in which it is something far too personal for the guarded megalomaniac to share with the rest of the world and his people. Following Victor Von Doom’s life from his earliest moments, through to when he took the throne of Latveria, this collection of stories is a dark and revealing examination of how an innocent young boy grew up to be a tyrant.

Young Victor intervened however, telling them that if they cast them out, he would grow up like his mother, acquire the same dark magics, and use them to take vengeance on them all.A dark and revealing examination of how an innocent boy grows up to be a tyrant -- a new twist on an old legend -- Books of Doom is a sweeping epic of tragedy, madness and destiny!

Case-in-point, ‘Books of Doom’, which is a very average series that creates far too many parallels between Doom and Vader: that he’s haunted by his failed attempt at saving his mother, has a doomed relationship with his childhood sweetheart, and gets trained into the mystic arts by some monks that also blend magic with technology. There are other characters we’ve seen in Doom’s circle over the years that make appearances, but those seem to be really deep cuts. El dibujo de Raimondi no está mal, pero es el típico dibujo dosmilero que tampoco me dice gran cosa, igual que las tintas y el color. Following Victor Von Doom's life from his earliest moments, through to when he took the throne of Latveria, this collection of stories is a dark and revealing examination of how an innocent young boy grew up to be a tyrant. A hilarious action-packed fish-out-of-water adventure, perfect for young fans of Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman and Cressida Cowell.

The artwork is bold and colourful enough but at times it all seems a bit unclear, especially during some of the action sequences, although some panels (especially some of the larger ones) stand out and enhance the story greatly. but the writing was good, though you can see how Brubaker has grown since nearly 10 yrs ago on this. There are some panels that I wish I could’ve found online but was unfortunately unable to provide, but for the most parts I’ve been able to provide some of my favorites. At its worst it is solid, and he can be very, very good (see Scene of the Crime, Velvet and part of his Captain America run).

With the phenomenal art of Pablo Raimondi, you will witness Doom's life from his earliest moments to the day he took the throne of Latveria. Brubaker absolutely claims Doom’s voice: “Richards’ intellect was clearly to be respected, but he was so wide-eyed about the outer planes of reality that surround us, so like a child”, or “I knew at that moment that the world lay within my grasp, that whatever Von Doom wanted it would be mine. Beyond that Brubaker takes the holes and illogical aspects about what we know about Doom’s past and plugs them solidly.A Highland castle, a trainee witch who knows karate, and an ancient spell to be broken – by King Golmar’s braces, just what has Roger got himself into? As a child, Doom was oblivious to this, and it would take him many years to realize the truth about his mother. If you’re looking for a good book featuring a battle between Marvel’s first family and their most powerful villain, look further.
