AEW: Fight Forever combines nostalgic, arcade-wrestler feel with innovative AEW finishers and tandem offense moves! After choosing a wrestler from the main roster (or creating your own), you take part in a series of weekly matches across America as you build up to each of the four main pay-per-view events. I could’ve done without all the mini game stuff as that looks pretty terrible but the game seems to play decent and is a good start, but when will something finally dethrone no mercy?

It’s a scripted drama/soap opera where men and women pretend to fight each other in their underwear. Not that it isn’t a fabulous sport and and amazingly useful and powerful martial art, it’s just not going to be as popular as wrestling or MMA on its own. I will give it a few months but for a game that was last year reportedly going way over budget because they were spending way to much on adding some of the mini games you would have expected a little more content to be added to make up for it. Naturally, this is impossible here, meaning it plays just like an N64-era Royal Rumble mode: it starts with four wrestlers, and when one is eliminated the next one comes in.We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. It still doesn’t quite match up to No Mercy when it comes to pure gameplay, but it’s clearly trying to put its own spin on things too, rejecting its simulation-like combat in favour of faster-paced, more arcade-like gameplay with more of an emphasis on striking combat and over-the-top weapons-based modes. Apparently will be updated throughout its lifespan but, currently, the basic game, career mode and the create-a-wrestler features are unacceptably limited and glitchy and the mini games are pointless at best. More than 10 different game modes, including Unsanctioned Lights Out and Falls Count Anywhere PLUS more than 40 weapons, deep customization, career mode, and mini-games all await in AEW: Fight Forever!

However, in places I can't keep, the graphics are terrible and the game is too limited - frw camera angles during action, limited modes and options. However, it's also quite blurry in handheld mode which, again, seems to be becoming standard at this stage in the Switch’s life. All Elite Wrestling is currently taking TNT and TBS networks by storm every week with their Rampage and Dynamite shows, featuring some of the biggest legends to enter the ring plus a stable of brand new, high-flying, AEW talent. To see peoples grabbing each other, doing body smash, doing lariat, doing tackle, etc are not interesting things for me to see. Maybe because I didn't play No Mercy back in the day, but I frankly think that GameCube games like Day of Reckoning improved on it.
