I have always been a fan of oils for the skin, probably because my skin is dehydrated, but these are designed for all skin types to use. In the range you have 4 key products and also a face massager which you never knew you needed till you try it. I’ve been using this eye cream-gel for just over a week, day and night, and while I haven’t noticed any major differences in improvements of skin texture as yet, I do find it a very pleasant eye cream to use. It is hydrating whilst not heavy or occlusive, it’s a delight to apply with its cooling sensation and works well under makeup. I’ve noticed a change in my under eye skin over the last couple of months in that it looks more dehydrated, not normally a complaint coming from my skin that tends to lie on the oiler side of the scale but I took this as a sign as needing to give the delicate area some much needed love and attention, or at least a bit more so. The eye gel cream also has some great goodies in B3 Niacinamide, a hidden gem for smoothing pores, some lovely humectant and emoilant ingredients and Fagus Sylvatica Bud Extract which is a natural antioxidant, has anti wrinkle, moisturising and protecting properties. Caffeine is a nice bonus ingredient to help depuff any morning puffiness. It is very soothing and cool upon application and is even more pleasant if stored in the fridge. The coolness also aids in depuffing of eye baggage. It only takes the smallest amount (I’m talking about quart of a pea size) to cover the entire eye area. The formula dries super fast and leaves a completely matte finish to my skin. It doesn’t provide very much in terms of hydration (so I wouldn’t recommend this for dry skin), however it does make my skin area feel very smooth and soft. The biggest downside is that the formula leaves behind a film that ‘rolls off’ when I rub my fingers on my skin. This is an immediate turn-off for me. I like my eye creams to absorb completely, without leaving behind a residue that coats (and possibly even weighs down) the eye area throughout the day. If facial oil isn’t your thing then the gel could be for you. This isn’t as heavy as the moisturiser in the range and has illuminating micro pearls, so it can be a great one to wear under your make-up. If you don’t like too much moisturiser this one is for you, it’s very lightweight and soft on the skin and has a lovely cooling feeling too. Sounds good from the title doesn’t it? This is my favorite product in the Oils of Life range. I really do like using an essence lotion, see similar from 001 skincare. You can use this after cleansing and before serum or moisturiser, so it’s sort of like a toner. It gives your skin a nice light coverage of the lotion, nothing greasy feeling and revitalises your skin and prepares it for the next step in your routine. Essence lotions are very popular in Asia and aren’t as familiar over here, so it’s great to see The Body Shop adding one to this collection. If you are unsure, go into the shop and give it a little try, I’m pretty sure you’ll like it. This may seem quite a pricey product at first, but when compared to other facial oils on the market I would say it’s very good value for money. Facial oils have so many benefits and don’t make your skin feel greasy. Just a few drops can help to nourish and revitalize the skin, making it more radiant. A great tip with this is to apply it to your face then use the facial massager I was talking about. I love to apply this before bed and just let it do all the work.After using it for 4 weeks, I think I’m in love with it. My under eye area looks so much better. I have less darkness under my eyes.
