About this deal

Most domestic bathroom extractors attach to a 100mm hole in the outside wall. If you’re replacing a standard-sized extractor fan, this hole will already be present and you should be able to install the new one yourself. Before you remove the old fan, it’s a good idea to take a photo of its wiring for later reference – and make absolutely sure you shut off the mains power before you take the old one’s front housing off. The precise duration of the overrun is normally configured during installation, with most fans offering a range between 30 seconds and 30 minutes. You might as well tend towards the latter end of the scale as the cost is very low: on average, a fan like this uses around 8W.

If you don’t already have a fan, you’ll need to get in a qualified builder to make the hole and install the wiring. Be aware that there are regulations governing where your fan can be located: if you want to put a fan in Zone 1 (the area within a shower or 2.25m above a bath) or Zone 2 (60cm from Zone 1), it must be a low-voltage SELV fan with a transformer, or an AC-powered model that’s IPX5-certified. Most of our recommendations below are intended for use outside of Zone 2, but the layout of your bathroom may dictate your options. The model above is for basic on/off switching. Choose an optional control module to upgrade fan for Pullcord, Timer, Humidity or Motion Sensing operation. Don’t forget to add the control module you want. Any module fits any fan. Its so iCON easy! Vent-Axia has really pushed the boat out with this brand-new model. Aside from shifting up to 39l of damp air per second, this bathroom extractor comes crammed with more sensor tech than any other model on the market. In fact, it has a sensor for everything, even odour. Yes, that’s right, when this clever little air mover detects a nasty smell, it either switches itself on or, if already running, speeds up the fan, returning the bathroom to its original sweet-smelling scent in a thrice. Finally, if you think you (or anyone else in the house) will forget to turn the fan on, consider a model with a humidity sensor. This automatically activates the fan when the level of moisture in the air exceeds a certain threshold. This sensor may need occasional cleaning, though, or the accumulation of dust or grime will hinder its effectiveness. What about noise? SAFETY FIRST: ALWAYS ISOLATE THE FAN UNIT FROM THE POWER SUPPLY BEFORE DOING ANY WORK ON THE FAN / MODULE.This standard 30 model (72591601) is suitable for installation into zone 3 of the bathroom and offers basic on/off switching. Choose an optional control module to expand the functionality and automation:Pullcord, Timer, Humidity or Motion Sensing options. The icon 72683501 is mains voltage(240v) IPX4 rated and is suitable for installation into zone 3 of a bathroom or toilet. It may be flush mounted in either the wall or ceiling and with a low profile fascia, sits unobtrusively in any room. With an air extraction rate of 76m3 per hour, it easily surpasses building regulations. The Airlfow Icon 30 fan is very powerful. With an extract rate of 32 litres a second, it meets the building regulations for bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms. Model above is for basic on/off switching. Choose an optional control module to upgrade fan for Pullcord, Pull cord with adjustable timer, Humidity, pull cord with timer overrun, motion sensor with timer overrun, Motion sensor/humidity/timer . Don’t forget to add the control module you want. Only low voltage module fits low voltage fans. It/s so iCON easy Applications: Make provision for the electric supply cable and wall plugs / appropriate fittings using the main body as a template. Level using guides below the L and R symbols. (see Fig. 6)

iCONsmart has been CB tested and FCC certified to demonstrate the thoughtful engineering behind the fan design. It has been awarded the TUV certification for its safety, functionality and quality. Fan and ducting should be inspected and cleaned on a regular basis to maintain fan performance. The external housing of the fan can be wiped with a damp cloth. The PureAir Sense comes with two spigots (or sleeves): one for standard 100mm installation and another for larger 125mm portals. The larger spigot is the one to fit if you want to benefit from its excellent 39l per second flow rate. That said, its standard 32l per second flow rate is still better than most and easily good enough for the majority of bathroom installations.Do not use household cleaners containing abrasives. Cleaning of the internal parts such as the impeller should be carried out by using a soft brush. Never clean any parts of the fan assembly by immersing in water or using a dishwasher.

Do not place the fan near any direct heat sources, e.g. radiant heaters, or where the ambient temperature can exceed 40°C (104°F).To replace the IPX cover, line up the L (Left) and R (Right) indicators on the main body of the fan (Fig. 6) with the L and R indicator on the IPX cover (Fig. 7). Lightly press the IPX cover onto the main body.
