About this deal

I always trim my paper or fabric to fit my surface exactly so that I don’t have to mess with overlap. It’s can be very difficult to trim edges of paper or fabric after a surface has been Mod Podged. Do you see what I’m saying? I find MOST of the time what I’m doing only requires the Gloss/Satin/Matte basic Mod Podge formulas. I just love it! Questions About Glossy Mod Podge

We have written an article called Mod Podge Matte | Ultimate Guide if you want to learn what we like to use the matte Mod Podge for, and you will see some of our own crafting creations! You can watch this video, but here are my steps as well. I first prepare my surface by sanding wood, washing glass or tin, etc.I paint the surface with several coats of acrylic paint (if desired).Having said that, if I want to add fabric to fabric, I’ll use Fabric Mod Podge. If I want to have a little sparkle on my item, I’ll use Mod Podge Extreme Glitter. Mod Podge is a PVA glue (Polyvinyl acetate) that is water based. It is AMAZING for use in your collage artwork because it can act as many different things: There are waterproof/enamel sealers on the market (ask at your local hardware store). I’ve also heard that Minwax Polycrylic is amazing for sealing and making Mod Podged items waterproof. Do you know of a good non-toxic sealer I can use?

Apply the Mod Podge of your choice to your surface: paper, fabric, wood, using a paint brush or foam brush. Paint it on your surface evenly. Use a soft bristled brush and then sand between coats. To do this, apply the Mod Podge and let it dry an hour. Then use #0000 steel wool and lightly sand the entire surface. Do this between every coat. After the final coat, sand and then spray a clear acrylic sealer to finish. Can I use a blow dryer on my projectto speed up the drying process? You should always wash brushes immediately after Mod Podging. Regular brush cleaner or non-abrasive soap works very well for cleaning brushes. You don’t need to use a new one each time as long as you wash the brushes out thoroughly before anything dries. What should I do if Mod Podge dries in my brush?

If you are using Mod Podge on fabric-to-fabric (for instance, gluing a patch to a shirt) then yes, you should use the Fabric formulabecause it is washable. Any tips for Mod Podging fabric/using Fabric Mod Podge? I tend to use Matte Mod Podge most of the time and then the gloss for when I want to particularly have a shine to the project. Alternately, you may apply Mod Podge® to the area and let it dry completely (to speed up drying, you may use a hairdryer set on low). Then place the Napkin onto the surface in the desired position. Cover the Napkin with a piece of parchment paper and iron (on the cotton setting) to adhere the Napkin to the surface. Allow the parchment paper to cool and then remove. The Mod Podge® will melt and adhere the image to the surface. The advantage of this technique is that you can move the image until you iron it down. Also, the Napkin will not tear or show bubbles, and it will be completely flat like the surface it is on. Again, finish with a coat of Mod Podge® on top.For over 55 years, Mod Podge has been a favorite among crafters. Matte and Gloss, the original Mod Podge formulas were just the beginning of an entire suite of formulas. Over time, Mod Podge has branched out into a variety of formulas and finishes that can be used on many different surfaces like wood, canvas, paper, glass, ceramics, terra cotta, fabric and so much more. From mugs to furniture to paper crafts Mod Podge is THE glue, sealer, and finish to complete your project.
