About this deal

A four-layer vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream frosting, mini eggs, a chocolate drip and more – the perfect mini egg cake showstopper! Seriously though, to get the perfect bake on a drip cake like this mini egg cake, you want to use the right tools. Without a shadow of a doubt, you will need a cake turntable. Along with this, I use a large metal cake scraper, and some small angled spatulas for best results, and oh my days it’s so much easier. Ensure your cupcakes are completely cool before decorating with buttercream, otherwise you could end up with a melted liquid mess for buttercream and soggy cupcakes. No one wants that! Once the cakes are baked and cooled, you can get to the fun part of decorating. They are an explosion of chocolate, buttercream, and Creme Eggs, so you can be really free and messy. It's great fun to do with the kids! Will I need any special equipment to make Cadbury Creme Egg cakes? Ice cream scoops*: I use ice cream scoops to evenly measure out my batter between my cupcake cases. You can, of course, use two spoons, but I like the accuracy the scoops give me.

I'm all about fun and festive holiday treats, and this Easter egg nest bundt cake is perfect for springtime! It's perfect for Easter sunday itself, or even just making with the kiddos! Add the eggs one at a time, beating well at medium-high speed between additions. Scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing bowl, and mix for 30 seconds more. The batter will be thin. If your ganache isnt fully melted after the mixing the chances are that the cream wasn’t hot enough – heat it for 10 seconds at a time in the microwave until its smooth. Its important to leave it to cool before decorating the cake otherwise it might melt the cake. Use a small disposable piping bag, I just snip off the end to do the drip, and then I will pour the rest of the drip into the top. I used a small angled spatula to create the pattern in the middle, by simply angling it and turning the cake turntable as I go, and slowly moving the spatula towards the edge of the cake. Homemade vs Store Bought: You can substitute using store bought cupcake mix and icing with your favorite homemade recipes.blue food coloring - this is optional, but blue food coloring gives the cake a lovely robin's egg blue color!

Ingredients Needed to Make Cadbury Mini Egg Cupcakes Be sure to see the free printable recipe card below for ingredients, exact amounts & instructions with tips!* 🔪 How To Make An Easter Egg Nest Bundt CakeOnce your cupcakes are cool, it’s time to make the buttercream. First, beat your butter until really pale and soft. This should take around 5 minutes. Be patient at this stage, it feels like forever, but I promise it’s worth the wait! This beating gives you a really light buttercream that is just heavenly and fluffy. Add in your icing sugar, then mix slowly to avoid a sugar cloud. Add in your vanilla and as much milk as you need to make it a smooth, spreadable mixture, then beat on high for a couple of minutes until fluffy and beautiful. Do make sure you scrape your bowl down, so you incorporate anything that might have not been mixed through properly.

The cakes will also dry out if they are left out on the counter for too long. Once cooled and decorated, be sure to put them into an airtight container to keep them fresher for longer. Why did cakes turn out wet? Yes, I recommend storing these Cadbury Creme Egg cakes in the fridge as it helps keep the buttercream and decoration firm and fresh for longer. May sure to either cover them well (for example, with a cake dome) or put them in a sealed container in a single layer. They'll keep for 3-5 days. This may be partly my fault I won’t lie, as I am also obsessed – I much prefer these sort of cakes in comparison to regular fondant covered cakes as I love chocolate and frostings and all things delicious. I’m using my vanilla easy Swiss Meringue Buttercream (recipe below), but if you prefer Italian Meringue or American Buttercream– go for it! I wouldn’t recommend a softer buttercream (such as Ermine Buttercream or French Buttercream) as these won’t be stable enough to support the cake layers.
