About this deal

I have included quite a basic Mango IPA recipe which should be easy enough for even the most inexperienced of all-grain homebrewers.

Some of the newer hop varietals will also add either tropical or dark stone fruit notes to the taste of an IPA. During the fermentation process, store the beer in a dark place as light skunks the beer making it taste like Sulphur. It won’t affect the Final Gravity of your beer (or the body) but can bump up the Starting OG by a few points. In terms of alcohol content, Mango IPA is typically between 5-7 percent ABV Mango beer, making it a medium-bodied beer that’s easy to drink. It’s often golden in color and has a cloudy appearance, due to the addition of mango extract. As such, you shouldn’t need to tamper too much with your IPA recipe to accommodate the fresh fruit flavor. Just decide how intense you want the mango to be – do you want a faint mango flavor or a more intense mango milkshake-like flavor? Brewski Mangofeber DIPA: This is a double/ imperial IPA with an alcohol content of 8 percent, which is higher than session IPA beers. The Swedish IPA features Amarillo and mosaic hops that blend in with the slight mango flavor. For mango IPAs, the calorie count is between 130 – 250 calories per 12 oz. The brewing process affects the calorie content in any beer. Most brewers lower the calorie content in their beers by either reducing the alcohol content or the carbs.

Aroma: Fresh mango (obviously), but also some passionfruit, malt sweetness, citrus, and a touch of fresh paper. It is good to note that people tweak recipes to suit their own preferences. Therefore, feel free to adjust it accordingly to the amount you want to make. Once you have gathered all the ingredients, proceed to: Fresh or canned mango puree can be used, but fresh will give a more fruity aroma. Remember to adjust the amount of mango puree to your desired level of mango flavor and aroma. Indians in top colleges | ‘Dream big, start prepping a year ahead and surround yourself with uplifting people’, says Harvard studentThe most popular fruit IPAs will use fruits that either accentuate the citrus character of the IPA hops or fruits that will build on those tropical notes found in some hops. Hops Crystal malts can be added to the remaining grain bill for a little added complexity or darker crystal malts if you feel the color is going to be too light – mango puree or flesh can often add a very pale golden hue to the beer. Mango IPA is a fruit beer with tropical notes that complement the citrus flavor in hops perfectly. People have been using fruit in the beer brewing process for centuries, but recently fruity beers are gaining popularity again.

Most of the grains you use (93 to 97 percent) should consist of the base malt which can be made up entirely of 2-row pale malt or be a blend with other light malts such as a Canadian Pilsner malt. A little wheat malt or flaked oats can give some more texture and body to the finished beer if you feel it may be too thin. The wheat malts can also counteract the acid of the fruit, which may result from using fresh fruit A fruity IPA is quite simply an India Pale Ale that has been flavored with either fresh fruit, puréed fruit, or fruit juice/pulp/concentrate, etc. Generally, IPA beer has a higher hop content than lager, resulting in a more bitter taste. However, bitterness levels can vary depending on the specific beer. Conclusion If you feel this removes a little too much of the mango flavor, you can always add some mango pieces during the dry hopping phase for an extra blast of mango. The Malt BillSanthosh Sriram, owner of a brewery in South Bengaluru, explains. “We are all set to launch a watermelon-flavoured beer for the Octoberfest, along with other fruit beers. We are looking at local produce making up the base of our beer menu.” A common mistake many homebrewers make when brewing an IPA or even a fruity IPA is to overthink the malt bill. Remember, you want the hops to shine through here with a slight mango flavor, not a deep rich caramel or toffee flavor as found in some other beers. Typically, ales do not have a high alcohol percentage; therefore, a single mango session IPA will not get you drunk because the percentage of alcohol is under 5 percent. A mango IPA beer features an ABV between 3.5 percent and 7 percent, depending on the amount of sugar used during the fermentation process. The more the sugar used, the more food yeast has to produce alcohol.
