About this deal

We’ve put together a list of thrilling audiobooks ranging from the most talked about stories that have become movies or TV shows (but we still recommend the book first), to newer releases you shouldn’t miss. Y, por cierto, ¡qué problema tiene esta gente con la oxycodina, que una vez que te la recetan te condenan a vagar como un zombi por el sistema de salud americano!

I also loved the cabin where Mallory was staying in the family’s back yard, a lovely little retreat to relax and spend time to herself. No siempre he visto venir lo que iba a pasar, cosa que agradezco enormemente en este tipo de novelas. Don’t worry, I won’t spoil anything for you but the initial foundation was great and if Rekulak kept that going, especially in the ghost/demon aspect of this novel, this could have been a winner. The damaged but still fighting Mallory Quinn stole my heart and her plunge into supernatural wonder gripped my imagination. You can thank Riley Sager for the first reason, and The Girl on the Train effect on the genre for the second). Another thing that bothered me is once you start to think about what this story is about and any possible explanations as to why things are happening, it’s too easy to put the pieces together to solve it. A wildly inventive spin on the supernatural thriller, about a woman working as a nanny for a young boy with strange and disturbing secrets.

VERDICT This work offers plenty of commentary about the superficiality and priorities of upper middle-class America, but a more focused novel would have been more compelling. I would expect a Christian to believe in their God just as wholeheartedly as I, as an atheist, don't believe in any. As the story goes along, things become more sinister which causes things between Mallory and Teddy’s parents to become strained. Unfortunately, he took this novel in an entirely different direction and turned it into a rather boring one.Notes to my fellow New Jersey readers: Hidden Pictures is set in South Jersey (aptly so; there’s nothing scarier than South Jersey to this North Jersey girl), and I was psyched every time there was a shout out to my alma mater, Rutgers New Brunswick. Over 125 pages of puzzles adds up to hours of screen-free fun, great for keeping kids engaged during road trips or rainy afternoons at home. With metal corners and 448 full-color, highly illustrated pages, OUTDOOR SCHOOL: ROCK, FOSSIL, AND SHELL HUNTING is an indispensable tool for young explorers and rock collectors. I’d seen this book everywhere, and a couple of my good thriller loving book pals loved it, so I knew I had to get on it.

This took me out of the reading experience and I also feel while the creepy images throughout reading were great at first, the novelty eventually started to wear off. It did feel that this book was written by two total different authors who never met each other to discuss which route to take. Not all the character inconsistencies were adequately explained, in my opinion, and there were a couple times when I felt frustrated with Mallory. Well, the ending does go a little bit crazy but I confess I didn’t mind one little bit because I was seriously enjoying this one and was desperate to see how things would pan out. Teddy starts to become more introverted, he doesn’t like to mix with other children and he also begins to keep his drawings secret – but, mysteriously, they always seem to find their way into Mallory’s hands.
