It was more autobiographical than I expected, as Gordon is very much conveying her personal experience and lessons learned about mental wellness. And the last chapter is one I plan to listen to again regularly, it is an excellent reminder of all those great advice nuggets! Once again Bryony's honesty and passion for supporting others is so inspiring and it has changed my life.

Initially I liked it: the almost conversational tone, the references to the early days of the pandemic, but the more I got through it, the actual style of writing became annoying (quotations that desperately wanted to sound profound, bullet point lists so long they lost their impact).I've just finished reading No Such Thing As Normal, it is aimed at those who struggle with mental health/those who are close to someone with mental health. Obviously it has been an immensely stressful, even traumatic, period calculated to cause recurrence of mental illnesses.

I can't recommend this book enough, it has helped me put the right foot forward in what is going to be another challenging year. As a huge Bryony Gordon fan I have been eagerly awaiting this book and it does not disappoint, in fact I read it in 24 hours!I listened to the audio version because I am unable to focus on words on a page at the moment, so I allowed myself to be hugged by her voice instead! The million, billion, TRILLION dollar question is, how do we help people with mental illness to want to exercise? The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. She is co-author of the book Living on Automatic: How Emotional Conditioning Shapes Our Lives and Relationships. This can be a very helpful entry point for many trying to understand and heal their own mental health or support others in their journey, but it wasn’t working for me.
