About this deal

The Seagate FireCuda 530 launched back in 2020, around the same time as the PS5, making it a frontrunner to slot into Sony’s system. NVMes, however, it is easy to forget that the micron NAND featured in the Firecuda 530 is significantly higher quality than many at 176L (something we will touch on later). For example I’m currently using the 2tb of the sabrent rocket 4 plus on my PS5 and I get read speeds of 6658. Later in August/September, we hope to be bench-testing larger capacities and updating this review, alongside added new ones that reflect the increased performance these larger drives can provide. Therefore you have to respect Seagate’s decision to draw a line in the sand here about what they consider a high-end SSD.

Maak een einde aan de kosten en complexiteit van het opslaan, verplaatsen en activeren van gegevens op schaal. This is to be expected on the smaller capacities, but the 4TB in particular managing to hit that cap without resorting to a 22110 (without compromising the NAND storage to QLC etc) is impressive indeed. Ultimately, what you GET for your money in terms of performance, responsiveness, service and (Seagate hope) durability. The Crucial is rated at 550 – 650 GB/s where the Firecuda 530 is rated at 7300/6500 GB/s… 11 times faster than the 2.The 2TB model beat the former champ, the Samsung 980 Pro, in every test save one, and trounced it by a hefty margin in several. Before we go into the full testing, however, it is worth taking a moment to look closely at the reported performance benchmarks of the Seagate Firecuda 530, as although the performance is good, there are areas such as IOPS and endurance when compared with its main rivals that make quite a stark contrast. So, when looking at these drives, we have to look at the advantages and disadvantages of the Seagate Firecuda 530 vs the WD Black SN850 and Samsung 980 Pro. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and get replies from me and other Inner Circle members who are dedicated to helping each other out. PapaCrazy said:More performance than Samsung Pro with twice the endurance and the same 5 year warranty?

Though you will either want good airflow or an effective motherboard heatsink to keep things in check. Even if you are not planning on hammered this drive daily, that only means this SSD NAND will last even longer and will in all likelihood massively outline whatever system it is installed within. The PC Tests of the Seagate Firecuda 530 500GB SSD included ATTO Diskbench Mark, CrystalDisk, AS SSD and spikes of AJA Disk Speed Test (over time). Seagate’s FireCuda 530 will burn through workloads, but will just as likely set your wallet ablaze at checkout.Well, a lot of the more technical aspects that focus on SUSTAINED performance and DURABILITY make up a lot of this. Not only does this flash feature four planes, but also multiple physical enhancements to its design over the company’s previous memory. Seagate provides downloads to Seagate DiscWizard, essentially an OEM licensed copy of Acronis True Image, and Seagate Seatools GUI, a simple and easy-to-use app to monitor your SSD’s health and more. De krachtigste manier om de opslag van je PS5-console uit te breiden, is door een ultrasnelle PCIe Gen4 x4 M. Who cares about the Crystal Disk Mark tests when the actual copy speed, even for a very large file, isn’t more than 2GB/s, when as per Seagate’s claim, it should be around 6GBs/.

Our sample had a rather crookedly attached sticker which didn't exactly impress in terms of the looks, but since its very likely to be hidden under a motherboard heatsink, it doesn’t really matter about the overall aesthetics. Furthermore, in terms of features, Seagate’s FireCuda 530 comes outfitted with Phison’s robust SmartECC engine, which leverages a fourth-generation Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) ECC. I do need to issue our new standard warning: Seagate is a dependable company, but the recent chip shortages and other factors have had some SSD vendor swapping parts–in rare cases, such as with Adata, to negative effect. Apart from the PCMark 10 storage tests, the FireCuda 530 either matches or beats the big bois of the storage world, and when you add its leading sequential performance and endurance rating, the Seagate 530 is at least the equal of any consumer SSD on the market. However, there are quite a few drives n the shelves right now that are shoving for gamer’s attention and for both PS5 and PC Gamers alike, there are 2 main alternative drives, the WD Black SN850 and Samsung 980 Pro.The PCIe 4 testing was done on an MSI MEG X570motherboard socketing an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-core CPU, using the same Kingston DRAM, cards, and software.

Just purchased a FireCuda 530 NVMe 4TB SSD with heatsink today for my gaming rig and your videos have been very useful in getting my knowledge about SSD’s up to snuff, allowing me to make an informed purchase. WD sn850 dropped less than a yr ago and has already been surpassed in performance and reliability on paper. De Seagate Game Drive is speciaal ontworpen voor naadloos gebruik met de Xbox Series X|S en Xbox One. To top off its act of certitude, Seagate will recover data from a failed FireCuda 530 for the first three years of ownership, free of charge. We’d like to compare both normal and EKWB adorned drives to each other, but would be surprised if there were more than a few degrees difference between the two though. There are strong competitors for less money, in fact the Seagate 530 2TB appears to be the most expensive of all consumer 2TB SSDs. The drives are warrantied for five years and rated for 640TBW (512GB model), 1,275TBW (1TB), 2,550TBW (2TB), and 5,100TBW (4TB), respectively. As mentioned, the Phison E18 controller has been featured on a number of other solutions in the last 6+ months, however, the Firecuda 530 arrives with an extra advantage with Micron 176 layered 3D TLC NAND.
