The double Storm Flap on the centre-front zip really increases protection, and I do not like jackets that just have a front zip open to the elements. It will start undoing from the bottom or as with the last jacket it ripped the zipper from the fabric. Made from Adelaide 2-Layer GORE-TEX®, it's completely waterproof and windproof, yet light enough to be comfortable even when you're trekking long distances.

Bought this to replace a ten year old Berghaus which was badly frayed around the pockets due to Velcro used in earlier design. It would be great if you could produce a woman's jacket that is long and has at least three pockets - many of my colleagues now wear men's jackets so that they can have these. After time as the item is used more and more Rainwater will soak up into the jacket rather than repelling, although water will not penetrate through, the jacket will become heavier and allot less breathable.This cosy rain jacket by cherished provider Berghaus is a top of the range choice all thanks to its water resistant make up, so will leave you dry in rainy weather. What you wear under a waterproof jacket can be a very subjective question depending on what activity you are doing. Having extra long sleeves is also good because you can keep your hands inside; the Velcro fastening will keep them out of the way when needed. Once the jacket is clean, the garment can be reproofed using Nikwax TX-Direct or similar recommended products.

Being able to zip in a fleece is a useful feature especially in winter, but this does affect the breathability a lot. I've not yet worn the jacket but expect to find that a few short cuts have been made in zip quality, number of pockets etc. I have found the Cornice IA Jacket; lightweight and suitable for summer use, and with the spectrum fleece warm and waterproof for winter use. To reproof the jacket first you will need to clean the jacket from any dirt or grime by using a recommended cleaner such as Nikwax Tech Wash [NO Detergents or Softeners].e animal hair's, odors from smoke or fragrances, or any sign that goods have been used other than inspecting indoors. This coat is nice to bring along in lots of conditions thanks to its versatile and comfortable material. How nice to know that I can replace my own in the future and recommend to friends a product and a supplier that is first class. Had two similar branded jackets from the same supplier before and was very happy with their quality and performance. Only worn once in a heavy down pour and was totally waterproof, will need to wear all day in rain to test it properly.

We currently only deliver within the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man.It is difficult to give five stars for a garment unless you have owned it for a couple of years as only time can tell if it is going to be worth the expense however initially I am very impressed.

With GORE-TEX 2L waterproof protection it’s designed to keep every drop of the harshest downpour on the outside. Same applies to this current purchase as I knew what I was getting and am happy with the jacket overall. I would have given it five stars if Berghaus would have immediately supplied a VAT invoice - I am still chasing it after three months.This comfortable, breathable shell is ideal as pat of a layering system and is interactive with a compatible inner.
