That said I have so much fun building my deck and just chatting about the game with other players during play that I don’t even mind the low interaction. That said both versions are excellent and I would for sure check out which ever one of the themes interests you the most.

Clank in Space is a deck builder that pits you against your friends to see who can claim the most points by looting the ship and escaping alive. This being space and all, there are new teleport and elevator spaces that enable you to move more rapidly through the ship.

The manual suggests the sneakiest player, but I recommend the player who most recently has gone to space!reproduces all the elements you’ll know from Clank, disguised under a battery of new terminology and iconography to learn.

The rulebook says that you should only play with one expansion as otherwise the cards from each expansion will be diluted. Mixing and matching the sides allows for varied difficulty and unpredictability; something that was lacking from the original game (although the two-sided board did add some variance) but is gladly a part of this experience. The Cloning Vats offer you a sneaky way to protect yourself against bounty hunters (those pesky red cubes that show up near the end of the game). Future plays of this will go back and forth between the base and the ship, and I don’t think I’ll ever play without at least one of these expansions, if not both. Over time you will end up adding more and more of your colored cubes based on how much noise you make, which is usually determined by the cards you play. I have to say that Apocalypse is a great expansion to Clank in Space, but there is a missed opportunity here. Anyway, so once the game comes to a close, everyone counts up their points which are a smorgasbord of things including the units you have collect, the cards you purchased and the artifact and other small treasures you found.
