You want to know what’s going to happen next, and you can’t help but salivate over Aiden’s darkness and Elsa’s strength to try to push him away. now, don’t get me wrong because I do like dark romance and even books set in high school, but this one wasn’t anything special as i’ve heard otherwise, and I know there are reasons for why the characters were behaving the way they were, but I‘m not too invested to beat the cliffhanger and find out at the end of the trilogy.

Aside from the romance, I loved the added mystery of Elsa not remembering her past due to experiencing a traumatic event in her childhood. This accident, coupled with her faulty heart and loss of memory, made it hard for Elsa to connect with a lot of people.But every night of passion pulls Bryn deeper into his strange and sinister world, until she’s no longer certain she wants to leave…even if she could. I feel like we just kept going back to the same point in this book which was the constant fighting between Aidan and Elsa it was just repetitive . I think it was really good we didn't get his POV and he remained kind of a mystery, at least for now. I do too though apparently, because I kept wanting her to give in to a lot of his demands pretty early on in the book! When she’s not packing suitcases or hopping from one plane to the other, she’s busy whipping her characters to shape.

I enjoyed this book more than the previous one because I think the main characters and plot are more developed, so it feels more complete to me. Does anybody have similar book recommendations where the main male character is similar to Aiden (alpha male, possessive, etc) and the female character is strong and kinda a take-no-shit girl? It's mysterious as we try to decipher the reasons why things happen, and as soon as you think you will burst with anger, something sweet and tender happens. Bits and pieces sneak through in flashbacks and dreams, and I was trying to piece everything together along with Elsa. I'm a tad biased, to be honest, because Aiden's my dream anti-hero, doing all the things I personally would want him to do, and I fell in love with his character so much that I am looking forward to the rest of the series more than I can express in words.Ali endorses public libraries, Outshine Watermelon Bars, Erin Condren Planners, adopting from Animal Rescues, and coffee from Einstein’s Bagels. family intrigue, rich people doing bad things but they gotta hide their asses, private school full of rich snobs, a little bit of petty teen drama, push and pull from MCs, H chasing the h going all cavemen most of the time, enemies to lovers, bully romance, side characters' story being introduced.

All the females are needy for love and affection but trade any hope for good things so they can live off the interest of the lies they tell themselves about the great future the could have if only they spring there trap.
