About this deal

Used my JoyoACTone through a Peavey PA today (guitar-Compressor-Q2- PA) playing a Shads Set at an Easter gig. One of the most contentious issues that seems to arise on the forum is that of intellectual property rights, whether it be product design, musical works or what have you.

I can see both sides of this'n and would hate to have to have been the person to render a decision in this matter. Yeah, from what I've seen most of the VIAB pedals are preamps meant to be put into a power amp or PA directly. The Joyo JF-13 definitely holds its own in any pedal chain, especially for guitar players with the desire to blend new and old. I was thinking of getting an AC Tone to take abroad so I could get Vox tones with other amps (obviously setting it up and evaluating it at home first) but with your timely and useful post I have changed my mind about getting one because I hate excessive noise. I use a Tech21 Blond v2 (with the speaker defeat switch) for that application - direct into mixer - and that is my recommendation. What I can say though is that through an amp the Wampler Thirty Something does a great job of putting the AC 30/15 tones and the tone controls are like those found on AC 30 Top Boost amps and the bass and treble and top cut work exactly like they should and do provide the nasal burns type sound when the bass is up full and the treble on to where it starts to bite.

I run the American Sound as a preamp into the power amp of my Bandit at home for practice and it gives me very inspiring BF Deluxe reverb-ish tones all day long. Great for anyone in classic rock, the AC Tone is also nifty for having a unique amp flavor distinct from your standard rig on tap.The quilter is great and includes 25 watts of amplification (as loud as a tube amp) besides a direct out. Of the five (including the FlyRig), the American Sound is absolutely the best, by leaps and bounds, through the front of an amp.

It's more of an amp simulator which is great at producing those distinctive Vox AC30 amp style tones. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases. Solid state doesn't sound like tubes and emulations don't sound like tubes amps, especially clean tube amps.I still think if you have a nice valve amp, then why not modify the speaker out socket to a line out, I have done this and get an incredible recording sound. I must say I'm puzzled by the negative comments about the ACTone - I've used mine on gigs and believe me, I don't settle for 'nondescript amp tone'!

I have it at the end of my "micro" pedal board to add reverb, delay, noise suppression and to use as a tuner all in the space of a single Boss-sized pedal. As such the Wampler Thirty does a great job of providing the AC 30 sound through an amp and the tone controls are more intuitive then the AC Tone pedal by Joyo. ammoon’s Mini Guitar Effect Pedal (Obsessiver Overdrive) comes in a small, durable zinc-aluminium alloy body. Steven_M wrote:As you can see from the graph above, the AC tone does more treble than both the British and Liverpool Tech 21 counterparts. The tricky thing is to lift the zero ohm next to C15 (at least the lower end as seen above), and to solder the wires to the empty pad below it, to the empty pad next to the volume pot (center of the switch), and to R14 (lower end). Maybe multiple amp models to switch between: for example, I like the clean side of the AC-Tone, but it's gainier settings are not me. Compared to the Joyo amp-in-a-box pedals a POD sacrifices a tiny bit of of the Joyo's sound quality (maybe - depends on your taste) and most of its simplicity for a huge amount of flexibility. This pedal can crate a range of sounds due to the in built EQ which allows you to control the Mid, High and Low ranges.
