About this deal

In 2002 Jacqueline was awarded the OBE for services to literacy in schools and from 2005 to 2007 she was the Children’s Laureate. This tale of a young girl coming to terms with her parents' divorce and her new identity as a stepchild is a mini-masterpiece. Jacqueline is one of the nation’s favourite authors, and her books are loved and cherished by young readers not only in the UK but all over the world. As the fourth Children's Laureate (2005-2007) she promoted the importance of sharing books, and reading aloud together. Lizzie is about to move in with her mum's boyfriend and two children, but due to a past experience with a violent stepfather, Lizzie becomes mute as she expects the new boyfriend's 'nice guy' act to drop just like the other one did.

The story tackles some difficult issues such as bringing two split families together to form a new family unit and the scary feelings that come with this process. If you like super quick reads with chunky writing this is the book for you, it was a really nice story where there is a little girl and her mum living together until he mum meets an nice man with two sons, they move into his house but Lizzy doesn’t like it so she decides she doesn’t want to talk to anyone, even her mum!page 15 (Lizzie is talking about her youngest stepbrother, Jake, who plays with thirteen Beanie Babies and likes tea parties and knitting).

She's completely fed up with having to join a new family, and nothing can convince her to speak to them. The only thing I would have liked to have seen more of is helping Great Gran ‘find her voice again’ as this is only covered in a few lines. The descriptions of the dolls are a very good feature in this though I do wish some more story telling could have been done between Lizzie and great gran. Illustrations throughout the book are helpful to emphasize main points in the story and for younger children reading it who may struggle with harder words. I remember reading her books and never wanting to put them down, not only did they look good with their bright coloured covers and amusing pictures, they transported me into this ‘grown-ups’ world. Lizzie is is upset because she dosen't want to move in so she try's to stay quit burt will she be able to stay quit or not. He has won numerous awards for his picture books, including the Sheffield Children's Book Award and the 2001 Children's Book Award.

Lizzie's great-gran is then taken into hospital after suffering from a stroke and it falls down to Lizzie to help her get her voice back and start enjoying life again. She wants it to be just her and her loving mum, and is traumatised after her first stepdad turned out to be abusive. One of the reasons I remember liking her books so much was because she tackled ‘grown-up’ issues about the trials and trepidations of becoming a teenager, as well as the worries and mixture of hormonal feelings we all remember going through.

Ngambek adalah salah satu bentuk protes yang dilancarkan seorang anak [bahkan orang dewasa] karena keinginannya tidak terpenuhi, atau situasi tidak seperti yang diharapkannya. That is, until she meets Great-Gran - a member of the new family who is even more stubborn than she is . Jacqueline's books include The Story of Tracy Beaker, which has become a hugely successful BBC TV series; Girls in Love, which together with its two sequels was filmed for ITV television; and Double Act, which she adapted for Channel 4 and which won the Royal TV Society's Best Children's Fiction Award.

Her characters are strong and memorable, the writing is superb and the storytelling is captivating enough to lure the most reluctant of listeners. Lizzie, juga menutup rapat mulutnya ketika Mamanya memutuskan tinggal bersama Sam, lelaki dengan dua anak cowok. Lizzie has been introduced to a brand new step family, and all she wants is to have her old life back- her Mom and Dad together. Jacqueline Wilson wrote her first novel when she was nine years old, and she has been writing ever since. As is typical of a lot of children, and sometimes of adults as well, Lizzie clams up completely and the only person she will speak to is Great-Gran, who she manages to form a bond with over their shared love of doll collecting. I would recommend it for 12 or 13 year-old non-native speakers and it's definitely only a book girls would like to read. Jacqueline Wilson was born in Bath in 1945, and spent her childhood in Kingston-on-Thames, Surrey, where she still lives today. I am not surprised it was a really good book because jaquline Wilson is a really good author and nick sharrot is a really phenomenal illustrator. She becomes so fed up that she refuses to talk to anyone and no matter how nice people are to her, she still doesn't talk, until she meets her new great-gran.
