Our team is made up of book lovers who are dedicated to sourcing and providing the best books for kids. The words that are used are simple and repetitive so are not too challenging for a younger age group. Registered office address: Unit 34 Vulcan House Business Centre, Vulcan Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE5 3EF. At Books2Door, we believe that reading is a fundamental skill that every child should have to help improve their vocabulary, grammar, and critical thinking skills. The repeating pattern of this story makes it easy for developing readers to join in with the reading.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is celebrating its 50th year in print with a limited edition in hardback to be published in 2015.Get off our Train (Jonathan Cape, 1989) and various books for adults England (Jonathan Cape, 1992); France (Jonathan Cape, 1998); The Time of Your Life (Bloomsbury Publishing, 2002) and When We Were Young (Bloomsbury Publishing, 2004). I liked how the book covers the current issue of animal cruelty and climate change, it would spark some big conversations in the classroom about the polar ice caps melting etc. I am planning to give him this book for Christmas since he still asks for the "train book" everyday. I love the way the boy and his pyjama dog go travelling on their train at night - this is not a new theme in children's books, but this doesn't matter when the story is done well.

On the journey, a variety of animals ask to get on the train – each one is initially refused, but they all have a reason to get on, so they’re allowed.Teachers and parents can get a lot of traction from this topic via creatively extending the concept of being kind to our planet.

This book beautifully introduces children to the reality that many animal species around the world are becoming endangered. Give your child a long piece of paper and crayons to draw a picture of the train with all the animals.

It then transpires that, according to the boy’s mother, the house is overrun with animals… so perhaps it was real after all. Tug of War was republished in 2012, and a special edition of Borka, celebrating 50 years in print, was published in June 2013.The pictures are basic or you could even say childlike, which could well inspire confidence for children to attempt illustrate their own stories. The boy dreams of being a train driver, assisted by his pet pyjama case dog who has come to life, and they enjoy their journey and when it looks as though it is going to be foggy, the boy says that they can play ghosts. When the story is playfully read; Emphasis on the shout with a hand fist pumping in the air all together; Involving the children in predicting; adding a unit on endangered species; including children in picking an animal that’s endangered and studying it while creating solutions to the problems of their plight. The author tackles the topical issue of endangered species with humour in this tale which describes a small child's fantasy about driving a train which is waylaid by animals. In 1954 he spent two years travelling through Italy, Yugoslavia and Israel, working at a variety of jobs.
