About this deal

Despite the many threats and warnings he receives from characters such as El Tejon (the greatest Badger wrestler ever) and Sergeant Squirrel (of the Robot Police Force, no less), Battle Bunny proves himself to be unstoppable…even when coming face to face with robot killer bees, megatron bombs, and the Kenji Fighting Force (comprised of Shaolin Bear and Ninja Turtle, who have been sent by the President himself to deal with Battle Bunny and are well-versed in 1,103 fighting styles. I can totally imagine a young boy doing this to one of his old books that he considers babyish, and my only concern is that a child might be inspired to do this to a library book (oh, the horror!

So in this way, Battle Bunny is a wonderful book to use to talk to students about reading strategies. However, the theory is perhaps ahead of the practice; it is a slightly confused read and is a little too in love with its own concept. While Battle Bunny would be a difficult book to read aloud to a class in its entirety, it is certainly worth talking about and is one of those books that will get passed around from hand to hand, spending very little time on the book shelf. Despite the subversive nature of the story, it is really quite creative and complex in its structure, causing readers to have to strategize about how to unpack the text.Alex receives the gift of the perfectly lovely Birthday Bunny and proceeds to scribble throughout to create a completely different story – Battle Bunny. Birthday Bunny becomes Battle Bunny, and the rabbit’s innocent journey through the forest morphs into a supersecret mission to unleash an evil plan—a plan that only Alex can stop. If you look at the cover above you can perhaps see that it appears to be a sweet book of the Golden Book sort, originally titled Birthday Bunny, that has been erased, scribbled on, and reworked by. Battle Bunny leaves me with this thought: "Everybody needs an Evil Plan Place where they can launch their Evil Plans. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Jon tells me they are planning on providing a copy of The Birthday Bunny online for kids to print out and rework just as Alex did. For her banner to assist with her Titan Legion Vulcanum Dark Fire, she decided a nice banner of Knight House Ærthegn. The animals of the forest become luchadores and ninja warriors; Air Force One and a few presidents (Obama and Lincoln) make appearances; and just about everything explodes.A funny, subversive act of vandalism that will instantly appeal to all mischievous imaginations, young and old.

First there’s the question of coming up with a picture book plot worthy of tearing into proverbial shreds. It's a stark contrast from the Stormcast, they're shown as almighty warriors striking from the heavens. I appreciated how the original part of the book looked like an adult's work, but all of Alex's work is very much the work of a child. The reason why I gave this book a four star rating was because there were times where it was difficult to read through this book due to having to read two different stories going on at the same time. Building was super easy, they go together really smoothly in 5 minutes and the back packs are much better than the original plastic mark 3s.The fun begins with a facsimile of something akin to an antique Little Golden Book, Birthday Bunny, complete with worn cover, yellowed pages, and wholesome message. All this begs the question: Is this book good in its own right or is this just a case of cleverness for cleverness’s sake? Kids will revel in the dual nature of this book and delight in Alex's brash embellishments to the original (and pretty boring) "birthday surprise" plot. The little boy who received Birthday Bunny was seriously unimpressed, so much so that he has taken out his pencils and rewritten the story.

So many of you may be aware that we are big fans of all sorts of big Engines, and have love Titans too! I wish I was teaching in a classroom because it would have been a book that I would have brought into the classroom to share with kids (yes, even my middle schoolers. Fans of Jon Scieszka will not be surprised to see his name on the cover, because this is a book which plays with its expected format and slyly comments on the nature of storytelling.Units within a certain distance of a commander untit (depending on race) can then perform extra actions depending on their race. If they worry, too, that it gives the wrong message about how to treat books; they might, on the other hand, reflect on its celebration of the power of story and children’s creativity. He is also a nationally recognized reading advocate, and the founder of Guys Read – a web-based literacy program for boys whose mission is "to help boys become self-motivated, lifelong readers. I want to make a massive gunline with flintlock rifles who were farmers or blacksmiths a few weeks before, truly the bravest of us. I'm unsure, too, if this has shelf appeal, because it looks *exactly* like an old, scuffed, defaced baby story.
