About this deal

In 1524, Jörg Schnaitter, a pierprew ( beer brewer), is mentioned in connection with the property at the address 17 Löwengrube. I’ve had this in the past but it’s likely one of those beers I’ve waited to review until I’m in the country of its source. Mouthfeel is very nice, light body, incredibly d dry and clean, low but noticeable touch of bitter; the carbonation is so vibrant and creamy at once; probably my favorite aspect of this beer.

Schülein's later tenure as the company's owner led the Nazis to deride Löwenbräu beer as "Jewsbeer". Lowenbrau once a major competitor to Heineken in the 70’s, 80’s and very early 90’s dropped off shelves in the 90’s. The lion emblem originates from a 17th-century fresco in the brewing house, depicting Daniel in the lions' den. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression.Description: Brewed since 1383, Löwenbräu is still produced in Munich and is brewed according to the German Reinheitsgebot (purity law) that dates back to 1516. So why not treat yourself to a bottle of Lowenbrau today and experience the authentic taste of a classic German lager. As brewer and owner, Ludwig Brey acquired the neighboring properties of Nikolaus Nassl, a Bierwirt (seller of beer). It’s a classic of its style, nicely carbonated, with a superb malt/hop balance, an almost bready flavour and honeyish after taste. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Proposals to relocate the Löwenbräu brewery out of the Munich city center have failed, despite the company's international ownership. Lowenbrau beer is a staple at Oktoberfest celebrations and is enjoyed by many beer lovers all over the world.

Are there better beers – yes, have I tasted better – yes, but this has always been my go to German lager. Lived off-base and had a "beer boy" with a little red wagon who would collect my empties, get money from me and bring be back a full case of new beer. The distinctive golden lion against a blue background is a hallmark of one of the world’s oldest breweries with a history traced. Taste is less skunky which is nice; really awesome crackers white bread vibes, a very light touch of sweetness; touch of noble hops on finish. A classic German bier that takes me back to the first Lowenbrau Munchener pub that I visited in Herford in the late 70s.

Oktoberfest beer, also known as Münchner Bier ("Munich beer"), is a registered trademark of the Club of Munich Brewers; Bavarian beer ( Bayrisches Bier) and Munich beer in particular ( Münchner Bier) are protected by the European Union as a PGI.
