It just does what the bottle says and of course the attitude of the stallion wearing it, well you know you are in a for a sweet reciprocal surprise ! The bergamot initially stands out, but is tempered with the slightly sweeter orange and apple and a hint of neroli and white florals. Other people may enjoy this new apple scented mixture-it has variety within the scent, so, itś not "dull" or "flat", it can seem to be a bit floral, and sweet for sure, However- after the original luxury of oriental sensuousness embodied in the first formula-I cannot conform-or enjoy. Top notes are Bergamot, Mandarin Orange and Apple; middle notes are Myrrh, Exotic Spices and Herbal Notes; base notes are Amber and Woodsy Notes. Of course it's also loaded with memories of a very difficult senior year of high school, but even the memories are somehow comforting.
The notes blend together so that one particular note doesn't stand out from the rest, but the overall impression is one of mellow spices. I can't describe the significance of this really, except, I guess, that it "smelled like a triangle" to me because the frag.Here's the best part - Mesmerize is a dead ringer for Nautica Latitude Longitude - not kind of like it, not just top notes. As another reviewer has said, this is strongly reminiscent of Zino, on the dry down however, it becomes quite sweet, spicy and gorgeous even, supported by a nice wood note. They're made in Mexico and the bottles sure won't win any design awards and may join the thin ranks of bottles that might actually cost less to produce than the juice inside. In 2019, this wipes the floor with most recent releases, including niche (though this fragrance might have been reformulated, for all I know - my bottle is around 10 years old).
This takes me way back to my days in highschool my mother actually took a look at the catalogue and got me this as a gift, I was completely blown away. I can't say that I'm a huge fan of this combination of notes, though, but this is the kind of fragrance I can come back to every 2 or 3 months and give it another chance. So, if you've seen any of my previous reviews and Fragram posts you've read of my love for Avon's Cotillion cologne. I'd prefer something without Patchouli (hehe), and he says nothing "that sounds too girly," whatever THAT means.
The citrus peel (orange or tangerine peel) adds a nice flourish on top- potent and decent longevity for an EDC! Turning off the personalised advertising setting won’t stop you from seeing Etsy ads, but it may make the ads you see less relevant or more repetitive. Because that myrrh and incense gives it a warmth, and it can be smoky, it's perfectly suited to colder weather in December and January. I have a bottle of Mesmerize from about 6 or 8 years ago, and a bottle of Nautica Latitude Longitude from just after it came out, like 2000/2001 I believe.
