I wanted to love this, but i sadly present an unpopular opinion that this was quite nauseating for me. Midnight Shimmer is a rich, woody fragrance destined to illuminate your evening with an addictive blend of soft musk, jasmine petals and sensual vanilla, a note loved the world over.

When I think smoky dark vanilla I think of Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon or Alien Essence Absolue. What a relief to find this whimsical and delicate scent after all the intense fruity, overwhelming fragrances I've settled for lately.Midnight Shimmer contains a unique blend of notes including Jasmine petals, soft musk and sensual vanilla to give a really rich, woody scent which can be used as the perfect accompaniment to a great night out. And it just wafts so nicely from warm skin, woods and vanilla are just the best combo for a comfort scent. Wear alone for a sweet, deep woody-vanilla fix or use as an anchoring base for lighter, more effervescent scents. I believe that if you layered this with any other perfume, this would be swallowed up by anything else that you would use with it.Strong but softly sweet woods up front, eventually drying down to a smoother and sweeter vanilla with peru balsam (which is one of my favorite notes ever), which is close to skin after a few hours. It has very good projection, and with only two sprays you will be trailing whipped cream vanilla scent everywhere. My skin tends to produce these kinds of smells with woods, or flowers such as freesia or rose) Instead, it's a very balanced woody,floral, sweet fragrance on my skin. I initially got a travel size i found at Marshalls and loved it, used it all up and wanted to get it again. It doesn't tone it down but it adds a nice, smooth woody aspect to it that almost always serves to complement the original fragrance.

When it arrived and I sprayed it on my skin, I don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed because it is actually THE MOST GENERIC vanilla I have ever smelt. I don't know if I have a fake one because I bought it online but on me it just doesn't smell at all after less that an hour. Too expensive for such longevity issues, just go with the 7 Virtues one or Cologne Des Missions if you can find it for cheap. This perfume upsets me so much because I love the scent with all my heart but, I feel like it has no projection or staying power.The main difference is that Midnight Shimmer has a faint hand cream/body lotion note that SDV doesn't have.
