About this deal

Unfortunately, even though it has a good contrast ratio, it doesn't deliver a satisfying HDR experience because it doesn't get bright enough to make highlights pop. The displays offer a 3440×1440 resolution, 300 nits max brightness, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, a 1 ms MPRT response time, and a 100 Hz or 144 Hz maximum refresh rate. Most of the screen looks fairly uniform, and there's almost no dirty screen effect in the center, which is great. The ASUS has a 165Hz panel compared to 144Hz on the AOC, and it also gets significantly brighter and has better reflection handling, so it's a better choice for well-lit rooms. Information about whether there is a possibility for wall mounting according to the VESA Mounting Interface Standard (MIS).

The monitor is also lighter than most ultrawides, so you won’t have trouble lifting or assembling it. The large screen provides an immersive viewing experience, and the 21:9 aspect ratio is good for watching movies. The AOC CU34G2 also failed to meet its backlight specifications, clocking in at only 240 cd/m2 like its 144Hz sibling. The huge VA panel in curved design with a screen diagonal of 86 cm (34 inches) produces particularly intense black values and ensures a brilliant and sharp image with a high contrast ratio of enormous 3,000: 1 (80,000,000: 1 dynamic). The image quality is absolutely stunning for such a budget ultrawide monitor, and would suit gamers down to a tee, as long as you got the real estate for it on your desk. They each have a high refresh rate and VRR support for gaming, but motion looks smoother on the Gigabyte due to the quicker response time. The Samsung is a bit better to use in a well-lit room because it has better reflection handling and gets a bit brighter.

This monitor isn’t ‘overshadowed in every aspect” by the X-version at all, it is virtually the same. This site and the materials and products on this site are provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. The AOC CU34G2’s color coverage is comparable to the AOC CU34G2X, starting with an sRGB palette that exceeds 100% and around 85% of Adobe RGB. It has low input lag, and although it has a quick overall response time, there's visible black smearing, which is typical of VA panels. With overdrive enabled, I did have a little look to see if any ghosting occurred but couldn’t see any on the first inspection. High-performance monitors are one of his fixations and he believes that it’s every citizen’s right to enjoy one. It sports the classic red on black color theme that we’ve seen across numerous AOC offerings in the past.
