Worth hanging out in those places and for the beach I'd say Coronado (LESS douches and frat type bros there).I was born in SD and had my childhood in the Bay( SF and SJ) The only reason we moved back to SD is because the city of SJ tore our house down to build the Museum. and maybe some of the girls down there go too far with the sunless tanning, but they'll look a lot better old without splotchy crusty over-sunned skin.
