About this deal

While all the characters were distinct, I found myself partial to Jake, who was so well-developed in the first half and I loved how his 'relationship' with Tiernan evolved as she got closer to all three of them—though it was not smooth sailing by any means and some scenes were definitely harder to read. tiernan: there was one passage i highlighted where tiernan made some comment about “i may have the personality of a brick, but at least i don’t need anybody.

anyway, so tiernan isn’t very good with people and tALkiNg because of how her parents ignored her all the time when they were alive, so it’s a big deal for her to go live in the snowy cabin with her uncle and cousins (who thank god aren’t related by blood by the way), and can you guess what happens? i would run for the fucking hills if someone told me i had to spend a winter locked in with this guy. well, it's hard to describe, but the moment she's finished having sex with Jake or Noah, all the lust that the author has spent ages building up fizzles out of her.Tiernan wants to get away from the spotlight of her parents deaths and she finds out that her fathers estranged stepbrother, Jake has become her guardian. The story is about a girl named Tiernan who is from Beverly Hills and is the daughter of two famous people who just died. The underlying threat was kind of pushed to one side then remembered right at the end and the relationship choices just didn’t make sense to me.

and all of that unnecessary drama at the end was such bullshit i had to skim all of it because it was so stupid i don’t even know what was going on that was necessary to have that much melodrama it was so dumb. Following the sudden deaths of her parents, seventeen year old Tiernan de Haas is set to live with her father’s stepbrother and only living relative Jake Van der Berg and his two sons, Kaleb and Noah. I was honestly a bit sad and (initially) surprised by who Tiernan chose to pursue because I found that connection the least strong out of all of them, but it was also the fact that she chooses him so late in the book when certain dynamics had already been well-established. However, if you are at all curious and would like to be pushed out of your comfort zone a little, I highly recommend reading this book. The readers that don’t mind boundaries being crossed, and having their comfort level pushed, then this would be a book you will want to read.If you choose to see it only for its wrongness, and if you think it’s garbage and disgusting, that’s on you. She had a different type of relationship with each of them which she really needed and they become a family. However, I was very much team Jake and I was disappointed that as we got closer to the end, his perspective and his established relationship and chemistry with Tiernan just kind of disappeared? It's important to note that at Booked J we are open to all genres and as our audience grows, so does our taste in literature.

I truly believe she improves on her craft and writing with each book she puts out, because it shows. One of it is in Kaleb’s POV, and I think reading it helps you get to know him more and shows you the side of him the book couldn’t but you’ve always wanted to see.the reason might've been to hurt himself and withdraw but it was never really explained fully or even talked about. and if you count the fire and fights and kaleb disappearing into the woods and all of that, i don’t even count that as things happening because it was all so random and made absolutely no sense whatsoever. Reviews, interviews, blog tours, guest posts and still relating lifestyle posts or subscription boxes are welcome. I've liked some of their works, but most of the time, I read their stuff and just end up feeling seriously disappointed. I remember when it first came out, my feed was filled with people DNF-ing and going "EWWWW" which obviously made me want to find out what the fuck was going on, because I'm a glutton for punishment like that.

I think the book was pretty well written for the most part but I just wish it had been about her and Noah and maybe the rapey uncle could have been the bad guy that Noah saved her from in my ideal version of this story. In a way, I feel like the only way to describe this was that it had a spark of lust and the writing was solid but everything got too tangled.
