About this deal

Wembley Or Bust captures the meticulous production of the show and provides a rare glimpse into Jeff Lynne's musical vision in an authorised book and vinyl set, taking its format from the playlist of that night with Lynne revealing the stories behind his hits. The entire set was presented in a cloth-bound solander case, and each copy was individually numbered and signed by the author, Jeff Lynne. Although I didn’t read it, I know that it is similar to Euwe‘s books and it received a lot of very positive reviews.

In 1983, Jeff Lynne decided to end ELO, following a dispute with their record label and falling out with the band's manager Don Arden. From inauspicious beginnings in 1971, where live audiences barely reached double figures, ELO would become one of the most popular bands in the world by the end of the decade, thanks largely to the songwriting and production talents of Jeff Lynne; hits such as ‘Evil Woman’, ‘Mr.Blue Sky and ‘Don’t Bring Me Down’; multi\-platinum albums like Out Of The Blue and Discovery, and, of course, their spectacular stage shows. During a tour for their first album, Mik Kaminski and Kelly Groucutt joined the band, with Pete Haycock and Neil Lockwood leaving three years later. Book this live band now to avoid disappointment and experience one of the best tribute acts in the UK.

Offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at Lynne's creative process and the incredible effort that went into making his landmark concert a reality, it's a must-have for both ELO fans and music lovers alike. In 2016 Jeff Lynne’s ELO came back to prominence with the release of a brand new album - Alone In The Universe and a UK and World tour. A 2018 book about Jeff Lynne’s 2017 Wembley Stadium concert is being re-released as part of the Electric Light Orchestra’s 50th Anniversary celebration. They became regulars on famed British TV show Top of the Pops, and had the first ever single to be played on BBC Radio 1.On 2nd November 2021, Jeff Lynne announced the release of his book Wembley Or Bust, which looks back at the band's memorable 2017 Wembley Stadium performance and talks through the production of the concert as well as providing behind the scenes photos and details.

Meanwhile, in Birmingham, Roy s replacement in the Nightriders, Jeff Lynne, had formed a band of his own - The Idle Race - taking Lynne s musical vision into more psychedelic territories. For all the fans out there who waited a long time for this, I feel like we're finally able to give them all the kind of show they deserve. First published in 2018 in a limited run of only 1,500 signed copies, for ELO fans the original publication remains a highly sought-after item.

This talented seven piece band does full and worthy homage to their musical heroes and so effective are the results that, for those of an age, the memories come flooding back, whilst younger members of the audience have become a whole new fan base. Inside we have 17 pages of writing, I’ve compared this to Wikipedia and it is an edited version of the Jeff Lynne wiki, the list of recordings and producer discography are a direct lift from Wikipedia. In 1980, front-man Jeff Lynne wrote half of the soundtrack for the musical film 'Xanadu', which featured Olivia Newton-John. After co-founder Roy Wood left in 1972, Lynne turned what had been a struggling rock and classical fusion into one of Britain s most consistently successful and popular acts.
