About this deal

That is what Eve thinks now, and what she will say to Daniel when hs ie old enough to understand such things as crisis, art and science. It’s only when you have read and thought about it that you can really start to appreciate what an incredible author Rachel Elliott is, and how layered and nuanced her novel is. It highlights the struggles we all go through in life and some that not all of us do such as homelessness.

The stories are expertly crafted and designed to support children’s developing speech sound awareness and vocabulary knowledge. This is the fourth book in the fabulously funny Pigsticks and Harold series, which would particularly appeal to reluctant readers. Daniel is desperate to uncover the truth behind it all, but in doing so he has to revisit his past childhood.

Bevis’s wit and inventiveness shine through, even when dealing with painful subjects… Bevis often employs the surreal to give us refreshing and new perspectives on serious societal problems… Flamingo concludes with a sequence of poems that demonstrate Bevis’s bravery, both in the content matter (a cancer diagnosis) and in the imaginative use of metaphor and imagery.I just sunk into it and found myself completely absorbed in the characters' development - which was no surprise, as the two main families in this are brilliant.

Next we meet Rae, still in 2018, but now in Norfolk, suffering the indignities of a family party for her father's 80th birthday. Our prints are produced on high quality artist paper using fade-resistance ink giving them a modern, matte finish.Following Daniel and Eve, Mother and Son who move next door to Leslie and Sherry and their Daughters Pauline And Rae Flamingo is a story of how two families become interwoven, how they become so close they be default become family. Obdachlos geht er seiner Arbeit als Maler und Lackierer nicht mehr nach und verbringt seine Tage mit einem Porzellanschaf unter freiem Himmel.

The poetry is very moving without ever being maudlin… A stunning and original pamphlet… inspiring, impressive and wonderful. I absolutely adored Flamingo and was devastated when the story finished and I had to go back into real life. She is the Selected Poet for Magma (the Solitude issue) and her poems have appeared widely in magazines and journals, including: Poetry Review, Poetry Wales, Poetry Ireland Review, Wasafiri, Mslexia, The London Magazine, Bad Lilies, The Interpreter’s House, Broken Sleep Books, Under the Radar, and iamb; they have also featured on BBC Radio 4. The book also desribes how the bird gets its distinctive pink colour, and why it has become such an iconic animal throughout the world. This volume, just like the others in the series, has a well-written text and fantastic, somewhat unexpected illustrations which illuminate the place of this animal in our world a book that also considers it important to deal with the role of a bird as a controversial plastic garden ornament testifies to the intellectual breadth of these volumes .There’s a lot of rather delightful power ballads threaded through the book from one of the main characters and I found myself googling them to listen to.
