The unique shape of the dodecahedron, built-in complex LED lines, outlines a complex and perfect spiral space and gives it a very artistic shape. Secure the controller using two M2 nuts on the two front standoffs (there isn't room for one on the rear standoff). I ended sandwiching it between two pieces of plywood and cutting it with a fine-toothed jigsaw to prevent cracking. You should also make sure the inner faces are clean, because they will become inaccessible once the dodecahedron is assembled. Since most of the dodecahedron is 3D printed, I thought it would be helpful to have a full exploded view on hand to make assembly more clear.

Fold the outer pentagons of each halve upwards until the sides touch, forming two half dodecahedrons. A common route for such a build relies on appropriately shaped 3D printed frame parts, with some kind of clear plastic for the 12 faces, and LED strips stuck to the inside of each of the 30 edges. WS2812B LEDs communicate in a single file line, with each LED passing data onto the next until it reaches the end of the strip.It is important to distribute the power evenly because if power is only injected at the beginning of the strip, the end experiences a noticeable voltage drop that degrades the LED color. These are more or less the same as the more common WS2812B (aka Neopixel) LEDs, but are more compact.

After the faces are cut, you can sand the edges flat using any course sand paper, they don’t need to be really smooth, just flat. This allows you to see what your lighting experience will look like and how it will elevate your space/brand. Please note that the drawing only includes the 3D printed and laser cut parts, and not any of the electronics. You will also need to connect the ground for the Arduino to the same ground terminal to avoid shorting.To assemble the box, screw the power supply in 4 places from the underside using the 3mm screws and an hex key. You may have seen various "infinity dodecahedrons" or other polyhedra across internet, such as here, here, here, or here. If you want to control the dodecahedron over WiFi, I'd suggest using WLED, however you will need to setup your own effects. The colorful painting process makes the space colorful while being light, just like a science fiction space.
