About this deal

Bottom line, Cooler Master's Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition is an outstanding option worthy of the Hyper 212 name. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition, afaik, is one of the best bang for the buck cooler out there. One of the Hyper 212 Halo Black's key features is its new and improved fan - a MasterFan MF120 HALO² part.

This is used to provide power to the main heatsink fan, as well as an additional fan if you so chose to use one provided your motherboard has no additional fan connectors.Even at maximum levels, the fan was almost silent, and could not be heard at all with the case side panel closed. This was likely due to the additional thermal overhead from using a better CPU cooler, where the CPU was able to run at higher boost clocks for a longer period of time as a result. The reverse side of the fan reveals a few more details such as the part number (A12025-20RB-4BP-F1) as well as it’s voltage and current ratings. The Hyper 212 Black Edition offers better installation and great performance, easily one of the best air cooling solutions.

Stacked fin array ensures the least airflow resistance, which allows cooler air to flow into the heatsink. To improve visual appeal, the latest update features a black aluminium top cover, jet black heat pipes, an ARGB 120 mm fan, and improved mounting hardware, along with a plethora of minor changes to further improve performance and appeal. I did manage to increase the fan rpm all the way up to 2,800 which did result in lower temps, but the acoustic performance was not that great.

No surprise that the RGB edition produced slightly better results than the non-RGB version as it does come equipped with a slightly more powerful fan. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition features two connectors for the fan: a 4-pin PWM fan connector and an additional 4-pin RGB LED connector. From a looks perspective, the fan looks like it would do a good job moving a large amount of air, so we’ll see how it does during our tests later on in the review.

Cooler Master also included two additional clips for mounting another fan on the opposite side for a push-pull airflow configuration. The Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition offers better installation and great performance, easily one of the best air cooling solutions. As the cooler would be tested on an AM4 CPU/motherboard combo, the appropriate AM4/AM5 mounting bracket was installed on the cooling tower assembly - this was a two-screw affair that took me around 30 seconds to install in total.
