I'm a bread machine junkie, having owned/tried numerous brands: Oster, WestBend, Hamilton Beach, Panasonic, Zojirushi, Breadman, Dash, DAK, Nictemaw, and now this Cuisinart. The same recipe that works perfectly in another machine can sometimes be on the wet side in the Cuisinart. Thanks to a black glass top, brushed stainless steel sides, clean lines and curved corners, it would look perfectly at home in a contemporary kitchen. The machine is the smallest of the brands we tested and is excellent for small kitchens or tight spaces. I actually resorted to using a hook tool that came with another bread maker to pry the loaf out, as it was firmly stuck.The Cuisinart Compact Automatic Bread Maker is marketed as a compact bread machine and lives up to its title: It’s slim enough to sit on countertops without hogging up too much space, and while it’s tall, it comfortably slides underneath most cabinets. My bread comes out perfect every time, although newbies should be aware that not all bread machine recipes are created equal.
