Comparing the album to Steinman's late-60s musical The Dream Engine, Classic Rock magazine says that Steinman's imagery is "revved up and testosterone-fueled. In the background, a large bat perches atop a mausoleum that towers above the rest of the tombstones. Even the signal strength, often a downfall of poorly mastered RBCDs that is overcome with SACD mastering, is not significantly better in the stereo SACD vs. Meat Loaf 'Live' at The El Mocambo was immediately pressed to disc and distributed to stations throughout North America. However, some people misunderstand the lyrics, claiming that the singer never identifies what the "that" is that he is unwilling to do, a confusion that Steinman predicted during production.

There is a suggestion to "support Tibet House, an organization dedicated to the unique culture of the Tibetan people which has the potential to make a valuable contribution to the world at large".

Played at reference level, or just below if you're of a nervous disposition, it really comes into its own; the slightly thin bass reflects the original recording and not a problem with this version. suggested that it would not appeal to " Nirvana and Metallica fans, but there's an older generation of rockers out there who will, quite properly, worship this album.

The next track, " You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth (Hot Summer Night)", opens with spoken word, performed by Steinman and Off-Broadway actress Marcia McClain, that was also taken from the Neverland musical, as were the next two tracks. Guitars still are a little too beafy, but they are less noisy as their distorsion is much more limpid now. But not in Canada: Graham Powers, CBS Canada's Director of Marketing introduced himself to CHUM-FM's new Program Director Warren Cosford. It is also the best-selling album in Australia, having been certified 26× Platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).

The snare drum appears to be equally enhanced, though this enhancement emphasizes its clipping (even on other versions you can hear that the microphone was too close, or the drummer was too violent, so the recording of this snare drum is saturated on the original tapes).

Songs like 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light,' 'Two Out of Three Ain't Bad' and 'For Crying Out Loud' echoed the textbook teenage view of sex and life: irrepressible physical urges and unrealistic romantic longing.

The low end of the audio spectrum is still lacking on the Apple Music stream, unfortunately, but if we consider that to be part of the album’s style, I can live with that.
