I am being given a green cheek conure in a month and my thermostat is in the worst location, almost 7 feet from the main floor on the stairs to the bedroom. So at this point I am throwing in the towel and looking for a mobile tech when I get to the east coast. For example, if you have an 8xxx series control package, you cannot use that control kit with this 9xxx series thermostat.
