About this deal

Windass remained a controversial character and in September 2006, on FIFA Fair Play Day, he was accused of grabbing fellow professional John Finnigan by the testicles during Bradford City's 2–1 win over Cheltenham Town.

A startlingly revealing account not just of his career in football, but of growing up in what Windass said was often an unhappy home. Windass is one of many who bounced around that network of managers and coaches including; John Dreyer, Chris Hargreaves and Billy Whitehirst, who is barely mentioned in the first 240-odd pages but contributes a whole chapter at the end of the book.On 26 May 2009, it was revealed in the Daily Record that Windass was interested in the vacant manager's position at Aberdeen. Off the field he is the same; newspaper reporters know that they can usually rely on him for an outrageous quote that they can splash across the back page.

Windass finished the season as both clubs' top scorer, with 12 goals for Bradford City and eight for Hull City. On 30 January 2015, it was announced by Hull City that Windass would become the Club Ambassador on 2 February, the club's first official appointment to this role. More detail on how he spent the off season and more detail on team mates behavior he observed and more detail on the inner workings ofneach of his clubs. However, as Windass has absolutely no edit function, it is surprisingly revealing of that period at the club.He had trials at other clubs, worked hard and eventually he was brought back to Hull City in 1991 at the age of 22. Windass started his footballing career as a YTS trainee at Hull City before being released by manager Brian Horton.
