About this deal

If I am building a model that needs plenty of strength and will be painted, I will often use yellow glue. The wood glue will sometimes "catch" and hold the part in place before you get a chance to position it correctly. Michaels crafts charges a premium for Elmer's and only sells the smallest sizes, not even worth considering. Most PVA-based wood glues, such as the kinds that end up in Elmer's products, aren't extremely water-resistant.

This is the very first giveaway that I’ve ever won, and believe it or not, I was really excited when they arrived! It's like how Ikea when asked have advised against using the detolf as a hamster cage as it's not what they intended and designed the product for. Feel free to let your words of wisdom and humor fly (there's no swear jar on this blog), but if you're overly spammy, rude, or just plain boring, you're just going to have to accept that your comment may not see the light of day. Since I have been known to leave a glue fingerprint at the most inopportune places, I only use original Titebond or Elmers so it can be cleaned up. Elmer's Carpenter's Interior Wood Glue is made just for furniture repair and general household projects. After building a lot of paper models, I find that it doesn't have the tack that Glue-All does, and I don't think it holds as well either.

In my experience they dry harder too, but both have about the same strength, which is better than the wood or paper they are gluing, so it really doesn't matter that much. Opinions expressed here are solely those of the posters, and have not been cleared with nor are they endorsed by The Miniatures Page. It cures hard in a few hours, though when you are clamping glued pieces together, it's best to let them set overnight. If you've never tried double-glue joints, by all means give it a try-- takes virtually no more time to do than regular methods, and gives you the near-instant grab of CA without the brittleness and hassles of CA.I'm no "expert either" but the commonly recognized "advantages" of yellow glues are a shorter "set" time, slightly better moisture resistance, better "gap filling" properties, and a "harder" (therefore more "sandable") glue line. When I first assembled the drawer, I noticed that the sides did not match up perfectly, so I glued the connector to the side piece to keep the tracks in a straight line. Whereas the top bit that's glued onto the house - would be hard to get at anyway at a 90 degree angle and no need to chew when they could chew the rest of the house instead (which none of mine have). Glue-all, school glue, yellow glue, tan glue, brown glue, carpenter's, Aileen's, and many others are all pretty good adhesives. Repeating for clarity: I learned it from a source I trusted, but you should treat it as rumor, not fact.
