About this deal

However, it's worth pointing out that these incidents are pretty common after the launch of new gaming hardware, and may end up being a lot of fuss about nothing. If you've read this morning's Guitar Hero World Tour review, then you already know how much we like the new RedOctane drums - but with the game now on sale across the pond, a few early adopters are reporting problems. Overall I would recommend these drums, as they are not as prone to overhits and dropped hits as the older drums are. I mounted another bit of foamcoare to the apex of the spring, added a spot of tape to prevent shorts across the spring, and mounted the assembly below the piezo element. Perhaps reviving an old thread here, but I'm using a TD-6 which I'm sending to my Mac and using Addictive Drums 2.

While I'm not 100% sure about this, supposedly the drums are velocity sensitive, but currently the Rock Band games have no notes you play that require that functionality. I like the look of the Logitech version, and of course the Ion's would be nice but they are a bit too expensive. Instead of resting upon a springy mounting mechanism, the cymbals are attached to extendable plastic mounts. If you are looking for a good drum-kit for the 360 then grab this one, just be prepared to spend a bit of time getting used to how to hit them for Rock Band. A couple of weeks ago I bought the "Rock Hero Warriors Of Rock" box for PS3 that included the drum kit - 3 pads, 2 cymbals, 1 kick pedal.

It appeared to have some sort of adhesive that was locking it in the place, albeit the "wrong" place. The staff mentioned that there is an easier song selection for children, so I am looking forward to coming back with my kids, who I am sure will enjoy drumming as much as I did. If you want a picture-perfect drum set that will never over hit and plays like the real thing, you're going to have to go with the ION Drum Set. But all my fears proved completely groundless, and I had an amazing experience when visiting Beatorbit with my friends. You'll find real reviews of guitar hero drums that will give you all the information you need to make a well-informed purchase decision. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Wireless - Would be nice if the brain comunicated with my Mac wirelessly via bluetooth or a USB dongle. The drum pads are much, much quieter and have a great rebound to them (this is coming from what I've heard of it; I have not personally played on this drum set). Secondly, a downward mounted hammer must make contact with a sensor built into the base of the pedal for a kick to be detected by the game. To activate star power on a Guitar Hero drum kit, both the yellow and orange cymbals have to be hit at the same time. A lever built-into the base of the kit allows users to extend the cymbals to a less-than-preferred clearance above the drum pads. Expandability - I would like to be able to swap out my own custom trigger pads/cymbals/ hi-hat pedals, so it would be nice if I found a kit that has a brain with standard 1/4 in connections that would accept input from additional triggers. Its pads were a lot nicer IMHO than the Rock Band kit (a bit quieter, far better rebound), but the cymbals were silly and didn't feel terribly responsive.

The Lips microphones do not work with Guitar Hero World Tour, Rock Band, Rock Band 2 or Rock Band: AC/DC Live. I know that I'm not going to get Roland quality performance out of these "toys," but I've seen some pretty decent youtubes of people playing around with their Rockband kits in Garageband. For starters, the Guitar Hero World Tour pedal uses a far denser and resistant coil than that of Rock Band or Rock Band 2.In Guitar Hero 5 and later games if a swell is dropped it can be played again by re-hitting the corresponding drum(s). If you pull gently on the wires while watching the sealant carefully you can tell which wires definitely need repaired. The Guitar Hero 3 Les Paul and the Guitar Hero World Tour guitar work with Rock Band and Rock Band 2. In Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero, and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, freeforms no longer grant extra points but can raise the Rock Meter.

Starting in Guitar Hero World Tour until Guitar Hero: Van Halen, the drummer is replaced by randomly generated characters from the rockstar creator, while in Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero, the main characters serve as his replacement. In terms of compatibility, if you get the Rock Band 2 drums on the PS2/PS3, they should work on the Guitar Hero games that support drums (Guitar Hero World Tour, Metallica, Smash Hits, Van Halen, GH5, Band Hero). I recently made a wireless MIDI translator patch for the Wii Rockband Keyboard, and the latency is surprisingly not a problem at all.I could simultaneously trigger all of those sounds on the Guitar Hero drums set and my standard set up, however I realized that the MIDI notes coming from the Guitar Hero drums are hardwired and not changeable. Personally, i dont think it is worth the money, but depending on how serious about drums, you might wanna take a look.
