User levels could be constructed from pre-rendered objects and distributed by uploading them to a PlayStation-specific Lemmings online community. The only time you get in trouble is when you need to do any intricate quick changes to a lemming and you then don't have the response or clear sight to do it. Then, to assign it a skill, the player simply taps on whatever skill is desired in the skill bar at the bottom. Save the Lemmings in 150+ levels of frenetic bashing, digging, building, climbing, mining and bombing!

In October 2006 the game was ported by developer Rusty Nutz for the PlayStation 2 with use of the EyeToy. The PSP version received generally positive reviews, whereas the PS3 version of the game attained mostly mixed reviews. EyeToy Lemmings includes some additional voice clips with no credit associated with them that have only made very obscure appearances since. Every level in the game was a pre-rendered 3D landscape, although their gameplay was still 2D and remains faithful to the original game.
