About this deal

His incredible talent for voices and acting the character of a person brought this book, his story, totally to life, in a way that made me desperate to meet and know these people myself.

Lots of funny anecdotes that made me laugh out loud and a pleasant way to spend a few hours reading. What I soon discovered when reading “A Funny Life (The Autobiography)” is that it’s not THE autobiography, but AN autobiography.I downloaded this as an audible book (which McIntyre narrated himself) and found it to be a really enjoyable experience where the comedic timing shone through!

I KNOW, the characters would not have been the same without his intimate knowledge of them and fabulous acting, voice mimicking etc. Refusing to shy away from the disasters that happened along the way too, you'll find it impossible not to laugh along with Michael as he explains why becoming a talent judge just wasn't for him, and the story of losing his trousers in front of three policemen. The series was a huge success, receiving BAFTA nominations and winning the National Television Award for Best Entertainment Programme in 2012. Written during lockdown, Michael McIntyre's autobiography picks up where his last one left off; just on the cusp of being catapulted into stardom.

Laugh along with Michael McIntyre as he lifts the curtain on his life in his long-awaited autobiography. I know he is a comedian that people either seem to love or hate, something he talks about in this book.PS the fact that he kept going off on tangents while trying to read his own audiobook was brilliant! Something I found interesting is that, while Michael McIntyre has of course achieved a lot, and I don't want to undermine his hard work, so much seemed to happen and grow because of his manager, Addison Cresswell. Michael McIntyre brings this wonderful autobiography to life with the kindle version that has his voice on the audio version. I’m currently making my way through all of Britian’s celeb-memoirs it seems😅 It’s great listening on audible. Simply the Best" comes to mind (RIP Tina) but you Michael make my life much happier by writing your books. In A Funny Life , Michael honestly and hilariously shares the highs and the lows of his rise to the top and desperate attempts to stay there. I had previously read his other book which was written in a similar vein and this one follows on with the next part of his career. He is brilliant at narrating, using different voices for impersonating people, and it really feels as though he is sitting with you chatting, as now and again he interrupts the narrative with off the cuff remarks and asides. With his trademark observational wit and absolute candour, Michael looks back on the incredible highs and lows on the journey to becoming the biggest-selling comedian in the world. Laugh along with Michael McIntyre as he lifts the curtain on his life in his revealing autobiography. Michael has had a silly life, a stressful life, sometimes a moving and touching life, but always a funny life. In addition to stand-up, Michael hosts the smash-hit television shows Michael McIntyre's Big Show (which won him a BAFTA for Best Entertainment Performance) and Michael McIntyre's The Wheel.
