About this deal

If you’re playing the game and you’re looking to expand the game’s soundtrack type in 1328 to get a remix of “Fright Song.

The player will have to win races to unlock some playable characters, such as Robecca Steam, Abby Bominable, and many other strong characters. Another speed boost can be gotten from Pixie Wings, which are not as fast but leave the user more in control of corners than Skates do. While the game could have definitely used a bigger budget in the visual and audio departments, the overall game is well made. You can choose from four different types of races as well: Race (standard series of three-lap races against three opponents), Quick Race (a single three-lap race), Relay (each of your teammates gets to race a single lap in each race), and Timed (your team against the clock).

You start out with a limited number of characters and courses available to you, but you can unlock many more as you go. As the game is designed for a younger audience, I found Monster High: Ghoul Spirit to be quite easy. As they explore the campus, players will engage in special assignments that let them explore the open-world setting of Monster High.

In any case, there's enough variety here to keep a young girl engaged and coming back for more to see if she can unlock additional characters and courses to play with. You can definitely tell the game is meant to be a very simplistic version of something like the titles Bethesda and Bioware put out – only it’s for the younger generation of gamers and I love that someone has done this.

Relay has you do a race, but each lap is completed by a different monster high character , so pick your favorite team of three here. Strong racers are fast and can knock over racers of either other class, but they are terrible for corners. Finally, when you get an iCoffin message, if you hit “accept,” you’ll be switched to a different episode from the one you are one. The only course I had a problem with was the one entitled “Monster High School” because it was indoors and at times it was hard to see what direction the track was going.

When putting together the avatar, the Wii version also allows the player to select different color designs for the outfits, an option not offered in the handheld versions.

Granite City was referred multiple times in "Friday Night Frights", though, as the home of Monster High's main opposing team.

The assignments can be done when the player so chooses, but the secret student mission and the Freaky Flaw mission need to be unlocked by completing regular student missions. If you or your child are not good at reading maps, the game’s default setting has Count Fabulous (Draculaura’s pet bat) guide you to the next leg of the Episode you currently have set as your main quest. Generally it’s the sound of you walking (a lot), a happy noise when you do a task correctly and a negative intonation when you screw up. The six different courses have a lot of detail to them, which is impressive considering this is a racing game and you usually can/t/don’t pay attention to the backgrounds because your eye is on the course. Though the game features few racers, few tracks, and few play modes, there are relatively many unlockables because most characters and tracks are locked when the game is launched for the first time.As well, with six playable character types, each of which having their own unique variation of the “freaky flaw” episode, a person can play Monster High: Ghoul Spirit more than once and see something different. The second type of innate abilities are the special abilities, of which each character has their own though the effects may be the same.
