About this deal

It is applicable for the mature at heart - for any woman who loves warm spice and vanilla - interplay with sweet jasmine and tender citrus notes, with a breath of clove for that added earthiness. It's a fun and zesty blend of sparkling, tangy citrus blast with some awesomely noticeable verbena (that is honestly so rare for me to detect in perfume, yet it's a scent I love) and gentle cloves that settles into a warm vanilla and slightly woody base. This was a blind buy at Action at a good price (100 ml), with a batch code from october 2016. Since I love the original fantasy and gourmands in general I felt confident to buy it since there was no tester. It opens with a LOT of orange, almost like orange juice, too much for my liking. You really have to love oranges to like this perfume!! Then it smells a lot like gluhwein or christmas, and the drydown is actually quite good, spices with a bit of orange, and has decent -not the best- lasting power. I couldn't see Hidden Fantasy as a winter perfume,it was a year rounder for me,and I didn't find it as sweet or gourmand or spicy as my expectations Just as other reviewers have said, the longevity and sillage aren't great for me. However, it's cheap, so I'm happy to keep spraying.

On first spray , Hidden Fantasy comes off like an orange cream soda/orange poppy seed cake with a touch of spice. As my skin continued to heat it up,the orange note stayed steady and the “imitation” vanilla note gave way to the faint spicy note from earlier. Which somehow made the orange note stronger/more crisp. This strange union kept both notes from becoming cloying. It's so soft and cuddly,so comforting and so nice that whenever I feel cold and blue I use it to cheer me up and boost my mood.I find it nostalgic as it reminds me of the homemade orange-vanilla cake my mom used to bake and serve it with a cup of warm, cinnamon tea Hidden Fantasy is the only Britney Spears fragrance created by Rodrigo Flores-Roux (see the impressive list of his others) and, though they do not smell alike, I do sense the garden-realistic DNA of several : Donna Karan Gold, Clinique Happy, Hilary Duff With Love, Halle Berry Pure Orchid and Badgley Mischka's Fleurs de Nuit - all glorious florals. Hidden Fantasy combines a "mouth real" orange/tangerine with those garden-realistic florals, adds a dash of syrup-sweet vanilla and the barest hint of clove. The result? Well, permit me to coin a new fragrance category for Hidden Fantasy: citrus floral gourmand. I don't care about the hate this comment will garner, but Britney Spears' Hidden Fantasy's fragrance is exponentially superior to Chanel's Coco eau de parfum (present formulation, NOT the vintage).

Overall assessment: Hidden fantasy, is wonderful, warm, inviting, yet invigorating and truly one of if not THE best Britney Fragrance. It is everything I hoped it would be and more and I think i may be slightly addicted. And the boyfriend absolutely loves it - it's been 2 days now and i can't seem 2 get his nose away from my spray points (not that i'm complaining lol so THAT is a definite plus). Love at frist sniff and highly recommended. The first thing that caught me by surprise was the stingy alcohol scent along with a bitterness, but it goes away within seconds. The citrus really only lasts a couple of minutes as well. It's definitely sweet, cake-like. I've read about an unlisted note of Neapolitan cake, which makes sense because it has this vanilla chocolate quality to it. As for the scent itself, most of us have had an Orange Creamsicle at some point in our lives, well this perfume is that smell, translated into a fragrance. Orange, vanilla, creamy, edible and yummy! They've done a beautiful job at not making it too sweet or cloying as it certainly could have crossed over into that territory with the candied fruit vibe that it has going on. It maintains an adult tone and manages not to smell juvenile in spite of the dessert inspired smell.

I see that most people consider it a winter perfume and I agree but not that it's not wearable year round.it has an almost powdery/creamy woody-vanilla drydown with slightest hint of orange, jasmine and spices wafting through which is warm, smooth, cozy and pleasant I am typically a spicy frags person. I think this is, by far, the most wearable Fantasy fragrance of the selection I've tried. It's been two years that I have Hidden Fantasy and all of a sudden recently I've started to crave it a lot! Hidden fantasy was totally different with my imaginations,I had different imaginations and neither of them were true.orange isn't sour or acidic here and I'm thankful for that since sour citric notes give me toothache.it also doesnt smell like fake orange in cleaning products.it has a natural freshness when first sprayed but soon it warms up. I'm wearing this now because all i get is straight up ORANGE! ...It has a nice slight and very light sweetness to it but that's about it. I can't smell anything else but maybe orange peel, tangerine, orange juice, a few refresher sweets thrown in, and a lil bit of washing up liquid. It smells like all them put together LOL.

More From Sephora

Edit: a reviewer mentioned D&G The One, I can see why: the mandarin orange, lily note and amber of The One give the same type of sweetness, but to me The One is too serious, sometimes it even reminds me of the incense of lily&honey. Not something i reject, but def wouldnt buy, too heavy for me, plum, vetiver, litchi ohh too much. Ive tried to work with The One countless times and just cant. Hidden Fantasy is fresher, candy-like, playful but elegant.
