About this deal

If I had a few thousand dollars to invest in a kit for sports or wildlife photography, I wouldn’t go with one of the newest mirrorless cameras. Instead, I’d buy a Nikon D500, an older generation 70-200mm f/2.8, and an F-mount supertelephoto. NIKON D500 + Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 @ 200mm, ISO 1250, 1/5000, f/5.6 Nikon D500 Review: Camera Size Comparisons

Im Kameramenü sind unter „Individualfunktionen/Bedienelemente/f10 Tastenbelegung am MB-D17“ die Taste AF-ON und die Taste Fn individuell belegbar. The Nikon D500 features low-power Bluetooth connectivity, to enable easy image transfer to a smartphone using Nikon's new SnapBridge software. On Android (and later iOS) devices, Nikon's SnapBridge software can be used to setup a connection to the smartphone, and then you can transfer images, shoot remotely, and add GPS information. With a compatible Android device you can also use NFC to connect the camera to the smartphone. Nikon D500 HandlingHow does the Nikon D500 hold up today, given that it was announced in 2016? Even though some of its specifications lag behind the newest mirrorless cameras, the Nikon D500 remains arguably the most advanced APS-C DSLR ever made. It might stay that way forever, since most camera companies have now shifted focus toward mirrorless. See more at DSLR vs Mirrorless Cameras. Nikon D500 Review: Introduction The D500 that i have not only heats up while making movies, it starts warming up while taking images in CH2. And by taking images i do no mean i am pressing the button until it takes 200 frames. I am a bird watcher and in i have to take images in CH2, 5 to 15 frames with one press max to get the desired shot. I have the Neewer grip for my D500. It functions fine. I haven't compared it to other aftermarket grips. I have compared it briefly to the OEM grip.

Aftermarket grips in general usually have excellent rubber material, mushier buttons, plastic (instead of rubberized) scroll wheels and sometimes the shutter button behaves a lot differently in feel than the camera. As for video, I mentioned the video because somebody else did regarding other brands. The fact remains, if you want it for video even the A7 III isn’t perfect. It feels very solid. It mounts quite tightly. But the battery trays feel chintzy, and separated from the camera, it feels insubstantial. The app and mobile device can also be used to shoot remotely with options to shoot in program auto, shutter priority, aperture priority or manual exposure modes. Exposure compensation, ISO and white balance adjustments can be made directly from the app. It’s pretty typical when it comes to functionality and can be a real bonus when you want or need to share images in the field. Nikon D500 review: VerdictAlso, it’s best to shoot in aperture priority mode with Auto ISO for wildlife photography. An alternative is to shoot in manual mode with Auto ISO, but that can lead to overexposed photos if you shoot in bright environments, because the Auto ISO won’t be able to go below 100. Nikon D500 + 500mm PF f/5.6 @ 500mm, ISO 3600, 1/400, f/5.6 Now i own a Nikon D750 as well from past 18 months. The Nikon D750 warms up also but not before 8 mins of shooting video and certainly not while taking stills. Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens. Nikon D300s:Announced 2009. 12 megapixels, 7 FPS (8 with grip), 51 autofocus points. First camera in the series to have video

Die Einschübe div. Nikon Griff-Modelle sind unter einander austauschbar. Da ich auch noch den Batteriegriff für die D810 (MB-D12) besitze, habe nun insgesamt 4 Batterieeinschübe die ich nutzen kann. The D500 is large for a DX camera. It is significantly larger and heavier than the D7200 and absolutely dwarfs the D5500. But for me the relatively large size is a good thing. The D7200 is just too small to feel really comfortable in my hand. There is not quite enough to grab onto and my little finger feels like it’s about to fall off the bottom. By contrast the D500 has a tall and deep, though slightly narrow, grip which is very comfortable. Things improve when adding a vertical grip to each camera. The MB-D15 for the D7200 transforms it into a full-size camera. Now all my fingers fit and when held vertically I actually find it slightly more comfortable than the MB-D17 on the D500.The D500 takes its place at the top of the Nikon APS-C (“crop sensor”) format camera body lineup as a true flagship model and as the undisputed, long-dreamed-of replacement for the D300S. There is no question that the D500 is meant to be viewed as, and perform as, a mini-D5. Consider the naming of the two, the simultaneous announcements, the new auto-focus system common to both, the use of XQD memory cards in both cameras, and even the identical resolution 21MP sensors, among many other commonalities. Quite frankly, on paper, the D500 looks like a dream. And clearly, I’m not the only one thinking that – the camera was sold out for a while after it was released. MB-D17 battery type set to LR6/AA Alkaline (the other options are HR6/AA-Ni-MH and FR6/Lithium) - I'm using one of the EN-EL15 batteries in this and the MB-D17 battery is used first, then the body's battery. Anyone who has been waiting for this camera since the Nikon D300s, has been waiting a long time, with the 12 megapixel D300s released in 2009. The D300s offered 7-8fps, ISO100 to ISO6400, and 720p video, which at the time was quite impressive. This goes to show how far we've come in the last 7 years, with the new D500 offering a 20 megapixel sensor, 10fps continuous shooting, ISO50 to ISO1,640,000, 4K video recording, a tilting 3.2inch touch-screen, and built-in Wi-Fi. With the D500 anything moving I use 25-point dynamic-area AF & AF-C. It nails every shot every time. Never before possible with previous Nikon DX bodies.

No compatibility issues with either Nikon batteries or camera functions. It even has a slot in the standard battery tray for the external power adapter (EP-B5) cable built-in! The Nikon D500 is one of my all-time favorite Nikon DSLRs thanks to its excellent image quality and performance. Enthusiasts and even newcomers who want to step up to a higher end APS-C camera can do so thanks to its more affordable price. As you might expect, much of the improved capability of the camera centers around sports and high-speed shooting, with significant upgrades to the shooting rate and autofocus system, but there are also major upgrades to the viewfinder, video capabilities and connectivity options which expand its utility beyond one particular niche. Key Features One of the other big features Nikon is touting is its Snapbridge system that uses Bluetooth LE (a low-power variant of Bluetooth also known as Bluetooth Smart), and Wi-Fi to maintain a connection between the camera and a smart device. This includes the ability to auto-transfer images from the camera, as well as initiating the Wi-Fi connection for remote shooting or manual image transfer. Context The dste en-el18a doesn't use a tray. It also includes the end cap with a built in charger. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work with the generic grips? The Nikon D500 is clearly ahead overall, although the Canon 7D Mark II is still a great camera. If you’re new to both brands, I’d get the D500. However, if you shoot Canon and are considering switching, my recommendation is to hold off. A more natural upgrade for you is a Canon mirrorless body (which also lets you use all your existing lenses, with the Canon EF-EOS R adapter). Ein weiterer Vorteil des Griffs ist die verlängerte Einsatzzeit der Kamera durch dieses Mehr an Batterien. Nikon generally positions its DX cameras as lower-end due to the smaller sensor, but the Nikon D500 is Nikon’s most advanced DX DSLR ever. It has the same autofocus system as the flagship-level Nikon D5, 10 frames per second shooting, dual memory card slots, and a large bufferthat allows you to take 200 images in a burst before the camera slows down.
