About this deal

Braun is one of those companies that have a strong heritage, with iconic products and world-famous designers like Dieter Rams.

As you have used all the options i can acquire here with relative ease, i would really appreciate your opinion and insight and might well make my choice based on your opinion…. This model is also fitted with the beard density sensor that Panasonic uses on all their newer razors. This, coupled with the excellent and extremely sharp blades make the Arc 4 one of the closest shaving electric shavers out there. As mentioned in the beginning, pressing the foils too hard will cause some small bits of skin to poke through the holes and get cut by the blades. But unlike the Panasonic, the Braun 3010BT doesn’t have an integrated trimmer, so it is provided as a separate attachment alongside 5 different-size combs.

Expert Reviews

And a dry shave will always be more effective, more comfortable and will also take less time if the skin is dry. Performance-wise, it does feel slightly slower than the ones with the more powerful motors, so I would suggest you to consider it if you have moderate to coarse facial hair. The foils were redesigned to be gentler and two rollers were added to improve the gliding on the skin and prevent you from applying too much pressure. Failing to do so can clog the cleaning station. This means that you’ll have to manually clean it beforehand. And that’s mainly because as the battery charge drops below a certain threshold (around 20% in my experience), the shaving performance will take a hit as well so you’ll want to charge the razor when that happens.

And for the Arc 4 line, they didn’t skimp on power and fitted the shavers with the most powerful units they have, the 14 000 CPM (Cycles Per Minute) linear drive motors that are also used on the premium Arc 5 shavers. While there is the option of an Arc 4 model that includes a cleaning station, you really don’t need it as they’re extremely easy to clean manually. I feel confident enough to recommend the Panasonic ES-LL41-K even to users with sensitive skin, which again I think is a first in the case of the Arc 3. Make sure to also adjust the direction of the stroke if you have patches of hair that grow in a different direction than the rest. Performance-wise, it’s on par with it, so if you don’t mind the aforementioned negatives, it’s a solid choice, especially if you live in Europe. Are there any cons?Panasonic shavers in general work great with shaving cream and this one is no exception. It totally transforms the razor and makes it very comfortable to use. I like the ease of cleaning with the Panasonic and that the lcd tells you when to clean it, but the idea of the cleaning station and being able to push a button and not think about it seems nice. The cleaning station of the Braun Series 7 is well worth the extra costs in my opinion and I would definitely opt for a model that has one.

Shake off the excess water, optionally pat with a dry cloth and that’s pretty much it. I prefer to let the shaver air dry (with the foil frame removed) overnight before storing it in a cabinet. Getting all the hair clippings and dirt out is very fiddly and time-consuming because of the very intricate inner housing of the cassette. A good rule of thumb for how often you should replace them is one year, even though Braun recommends buying a new cassette every 18 months. I actually prefer the ES-LF51-A over the ES-LA63-S because it has a smaller shaving head and I just seem to get a slightly closer shave. And by difficult hairs I mostly refer to longer, flat-lying hairs that are sometimes left behind by less capable shavers.

Overall, I was quite impressed with the trimming capabilities of the Panasonic ES-LL41-K and I actually see it being successfully used in this manner as well, not just occasionally. And this was by far the most surprising thing about the ES-LL41-K during my tests. Precisely, it was among the most comfortable Panasonic razors I’ve ever used. On the other hand, Panasonic shavers are very easy to clean. The shaving head can be taken apart and cleaned thoroughly. The exposed inner blades of the Panasonic ES-LF51-A I will admit that I was very skeptical at first, but after using several of the new Arc 5 models I can honestly say that they really work. The evolution of the Panasonic Arc 5 foil (from the oldest to the most recent version).

Charging it from 0 to 100% takes a bit less than an hour, again in line with most of today’s shavers.

Braun Series 7 vs Panasonic Arc 4: shaving performance

The trimmer is powered by the same nippy 13 000 CPM motor, so it’s quite capable for an integrated cutter. In my experience, it is significantly faster than the other 2 in 1 systems currently available (from Philips and Braun). I highly recommend charging it when that happens as from that moment on, you’ll likely experience a gradual decrease in the shaver’s speed. So if you can, definitely go for one of the cc models that come with the automatic cleaning station. The ES-RF31-S also has a very basic battery level indicator with only 3 levels, but the battery itself is larger, providing up to 65 minutes of cordless operation.
